Oldcastle struggling

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I have been proved right. I called it in January. Struggling for survival. Some were certain they wouldnt be in a relegation dog fight.

They wont be relegated. They couldn't have had a tougher group this year and when you look at it they have lost all of there games by a point or 2 and drew with Duleek/Bellewstown.So if they survive and if next year they get a good group they could reach the knock-out stages next year.

would have to agree 12royal oldcastle have been very unlucky in the games they have played this yr and if things had of gone their way in some of the games they could easily be in a 1/4 final now! having only conceded a late goal to summerhil had a man sent of again D/A they were goin well and also could have beaten D/B so could have been alot different. and to think they were in the group where two of the favs for d championship at the start of the yr didnt get out shows d strenght of the group

Stuck in a 5 team group, 3 of whom were thought to be championship contenders, you predicted that the just-promoted side would struggle. Congratulations Nostradamus.
I really cant see them being relegated. St Ultans look pretty limited and I am sorry to say look doomed. I think both Oldcastle and Simonstown will be too strong for them. However you never can tell with Simonstown - if ever a club knew how to shoot themselves in the foot, it is Simonstown. Nothing is certain when they are involved. If they hit form they could beat either Oldcastle or St Ultans handily. And yet it wouldnt be a massive surprise at this stage if they collapse and end up relegated.

Ha such a pointless trend Oldcastle are the club beside us and they are a team of extremely young talent and were drawn in a group with older more experienced players on 2/3 of the gavourites to start with but oldcastle will learn from this year and without doubt stay up, with players like terry farrelly, barry curran, ronan farrelly and paddy gilseain they are a certainly a quality team, i wouldnt worry too much about st. Ultans as i'm sure if Oldcastle perform the way they did against summerhill (in the first 30 minutes) they could beat most teams

It's a wind up thread. Any of ye who are on here long enough will remember the nonsense from premiumlevel, sam99 & the other 3 jokers who haven't reappeared just yet.

90% of all their posts are slating oldcastle. The fact that they set up a thread exclusively for one club, even though there are 3 clubs in the same boat says it all.

The groups were not named when i called it in JANUARY. My prediction was that whatever way the draw was made Oldcastle would be in a relagation dog fight. Typical of Jinxie. When your proved wrong you just call me a WUM. Oldcastle were never going to compete with the big clubs. I expect them to be in division two of the leauge next year again.

Oldcastle are a good youmg team who will only improve over the next few years, if they can manage to see off relegation this year. Here's hoping they will.

I'm surprised you still have an account after your post on Thursday.
As for Oldcastle being dead certs, well you should know seeing as all of your 36 post to date have been preaching of their demise.

However I'll not rush to the bookies on your word. I'm not naive enough to think games are are as easily called as that.

Jinxie your memory is getting worse. You said that they would be challanging for a 1/4 final spot. When the last group game came they needed to win to stay out of relagation trouble. Needless to say they lost.

Would you care to show my where I said oldcastle would be?
I said they are well capable of it given a decent group, however they got a very difficult group, which is also proven given the positions that omahonies & summerhill ended up in.

But as it stands they are not relegated & it's all in their own hands.
So the point of your post or indeed this thread is hard to see.

Oldcastle are a hardy strong up and comming team and potentially follow in Don/Ash or the tones footsteps and will build good foundations over time in senior grade, Should be safe from relegation however you never know, look at NOM, unexpected is an understatement! Looking @ St Ultans think they are a team feeling the effects of emigration the most in the county, they only seem to have bout 5 players from the team that won the intermediate two years ago, maybe a couple of injuries in there!? They will struggle. Wouldnt worry about Simonstown going down, they surely have the strenght and experience to last at the top grade, if they perform should teach Ultans and Oldcastle a lession?? Am i close to the truth here?

Highroller

That's probably the soundest assessment so far.

Unfortunatly there's a couple of kids who have set up this thread to have a dig rather than discuss football.

Turns out the group Oldcastle were in was the weakest group and they still finished last. No team from group C reached the semi finals. Wrong again jinxie.
