i'm sick of these dublin border teams harping on about winning championships... rotoath have missed their chance with regards the junior championship. ashbandit90 (Meath) - Posts: 17 - 03/06/2010 14:27:19 666649 Link 0 |

hoganstandboy19, I was making a general statement that the majority are rough. I have seen enough this year from Don Ash, Boardsmill, Moylagh, NOM etc. I think even you as a staunch Ratoath man would have to agree with me on that. MinorStar (Meath) - Posts: 294 - 03/06/2010 14:50:16 666682 Link 0 |

i am god....... that is true.... but im talking about rathmolyon in general........ hurling there is not what it used to be.... there senior team is far from strong.... what does that make their junior team.....?!! johndeere (Meath) - Posts: 5 - 03/06/2010 14:50:52 666683 Link 0 |

ashbandit, how can u say its tones to lose. they have bet 2 mediocare lads to be honoust. When they come up against kiltale or ratoath then well see. I do take into consideration the inprovement in wolfe tones but really have they come up against a championship contender yet. I would forget about the demolishing in the league to ratoath, reading reports, ratoath had a second team out..or a weak first team. iamgod (Meath) - Posts: 86 - 03/06/2010 15:11:40 666721 Link 0 |

Kilskyre to pip Boardsmill tonight, they're an improving team and are getting better as the games go by.. InTheLoop (Meath) - Posts: 147 - 03/06/2010 16:28:14 666849 Link 0 |

Ashbandit, kiltale only have won 1 out of the past 4 minor hurling championships, Dunboyne won it in 07, Kiltale in 08, Kells in 09, and Trim this year. CastleBravo (Meath) - Posts: 1741 - 03/06/2010 16:49:33 666880 Link 0 |

Intheloop, they have only played 1 championship game, so improving as each game goes by is a slight over exageration. I think Ill head to the game tonight for a wee look to see how good they really are! MinorStar (Meath) - Posts: 294 - 03/06/2010 16:49:45 666881 Link 0 |

I meant in the league Minorstar, they're 4 for 4 in that...only div.3 I know. They didn't play a lot of games really over the last couple of years (pulled out of lge) due to lack of numbers, so I mean that there is potential there once they get the matches into them. minorstar you are entitled to your opinion but i dont think you realise how big the three lads that play senior football for meath. they are influetial in wolfe tones success and even though the other players are very good as well if they lose these players they wont be winning as easy as they are..yes they can refuse to play again but how many matches will they be allowed do this...ratoath v wolfe tones final which i cant predict the winner just yet hoganstandboy19 (Meath) - Posts: 76 - 05/06/2010 16:25:19 668341 Link 0 |

Although it's great to see the three lads having such commitment to hurling and junior hurling at that but what I want to know is what Eamon o Brien thinks about all of this surely it will get to a certain stage where he will have to ask the lads to choose between one or the other and I'm afraid that that could spell the end of tones' championship aspirations. Also if tones keep refusing to play without the lads the championship will not be finished for months! johnmoore09 (Meath) - Posts: 61 - 05/06/2010 20:51:35 668568 Link 0 |

Would have said Kiltale until I saw the Don/Ash game. Worst performance I ever saw. They are in Div 2 and only lost to a senior team (Longwood) and beat every Intermediate team they played, yet never saw them play as bad as they did against Don/ash. Ref (Jimmy Burke) didn't excatly help them but it's no excuse for the loss DaveReilly (Meath) - Posts: 27 - 07/06/2010 13:23:44 669556 Link 0 |

I see on the Meath Fixtures list, there are two games set for Junior hurling championship next week. The Tones v Kilskyre and Ratoath v Moylagh. This round could put ratoath and tones through if they both win. What does our friend from Moylagh think?... Any views on the games... Minorstar, have you seen both Kilskyre and Wolfe Tones play? Whats your opinion on who might win this game? It will be close anyway, but the Tones look to have the edge.. InTheLoop (Meath) - Posts: 147 - 11/06/2010 12:30:18 674123 Link 0 |

InTheLoop, Yes I saw both teams, and to be honest I thought the kilskyre v boardsmill game was one of the best I have seen all year. Really good performance by Kilskyre. I thought their number 6, Muldoon was super. He is some hurler and will be very hard to contain. I saw the tones against Moylagh and I thought they did well but started slowly, if they do the same against Kilskyre they might be in trouble. Really hard to call this one because Kilskyre need to win and tones I would imagine would not want to have to beat Ratoath to qualify. I wont make that game as I am on night shift. What are your thoughts. MinorStar (Meath) - Posts: 294 - 11/06/2010 12:42:41 674147 Link 0 |

Ye Id say the tones will be going all out to win too, as they will not want to have to beat Ratoath to qualify. So it will really be do or die on the night hopefully leading to a good tough championship game! I haven't seen the tones yet so I cant comment, but Kilskyre looked good in parts in the last game and have a couple to come back I think. I don't know if the game will go ahead though, with 3/4 players from meath on tones panel and 1 player on Kilskyre panel...Risky enough havin them players playing 10 days before a potential Leinster semi against the dubs (providing we get past Laois-which we should).. Yes indeed, I didnt think of that, although in previous posts it has been mentioned that the tones wont play without their fotballers. This will put that theory to the test. Have kilskyre more players to come in as they looked strong against bmill. MinorStar (Meath) - Posts: 294 - 11/06/2010 13:54:46 674245 Link 0 |

They could have maybe 3/4 to come back into the starting team from the last day, 2of them came on v Bmill though.. InTheLoop (Meath) - Posts: 147 - 11/06/2010 16:08:32 674423 Link 0 |

InTheLoop, Yes I agree should be a good game, I hope it is anyway because what I have seen so far has been poor for the most part MinorStar (Meath) - Posts: 294 - 11/06/2010 16:32:45 674453 Link 0 |
