Tones by few to spare, especially now with the footballers on board. Rather Kilskyre to win it because they will take intermediate seriously and it would mean alot to club where as Tones will only be interested in hurling when they out of football.

Toon, what a ridiclous comment to make. Im neither a tones nor a kilskyre member but I can assure you that for either team to reach a junior hurling final they have every player on board and committed. I have seen the tones a bit this year and any time I saw either Brian Meade or Eoghan Harrington they were 100% fighting for the cause. I do agree that I see tones shading it.

Kilskyre lost by 4 points, heard it was theirs for the taking and let tones come back into it..

Well done Kildalkey on winning 2 in a row and to Kilmessan for contributing to what was a memorable game of hurling,

Well, I wonder have the celebrations died down in Kilberry for the tones. What a fantastic game of Hurling and a superb curtain raiser to the senior game. Totally committed and deserved winners I feel. The Tones played the hurling in the championship minutes and the calculated subsitution which moved no 13 to half back and bring on the McKoewn lad was inspired. Not many teams would bring on a corner forward and take off the corner back. But they never panicked, stuck to their game plan and hurling won out.

Feel for Kilskyre but felt they panicked, made stupid mistakes, argued amongst themselves. I think they were beaten by the stronger team rather than losing it. A shame that some of their players and management were acting up after the game. Not a nice sight.

Is there a Leinster championship for the Tones now as I was reading in paper that Drumree are in Leinster Junior Championship

Tones are out at the end of the month in the Leinster - no exact time, date or venue yet, waiting on other results i believe.

Minorstar i was wondering what happened after junior hurling final last weekend?? you said that some of the Kilskyre players and officials were acting up after the match???

Minorstar: I think its a bit of an exageration to say the Kilskyre players were acting up, there was an exchange of words between a Wolfe Tones offical and a Kilskyre player after the match; harmless stuff. The Kilskyre player in question had taken a bit of rough treatment from a Wolfe Tones substitute during the late stages of the match so he was obviously a bit annoyed, by and large it was a very sporting match except for an off the ball incident at the end of the first half which involved a county footballer and was missed by all the officals!!

have to say that beanie mckeown(wolfe tones sub)changed the game when introduced,he rattled a few feathers which didnt go down to well with the kilskyre defence..it should be kilskyres title next year if they keep it together.....

Thunderstruck, What I witnessed was after the final whistle was the tones subsitute putting his hand out to shake with the kilskyre player and he threw the head in on the tones player. That is wrong. We have all played in hard games but the way never refuse to shake an opponents hand after the game. Also a kilskyre player made a 40 yard run to strike the tones full forward after the final whistle. That also is wrong. Stupid carry on, and it is a credit to the tones players that they didnt react.

MinorStar. There is 13 pages witten about who will win the hurling championship, and its all about junior hurling. I wasn't at too many junior matches, but I have to say the standard of hurling as a curtain raiser was not very good to say the least. You can contradict all you want, but it was very tame. Hope to see Kildalkey progressing further in Leinster, as they done quite well to beat a very formidable Kilmessan outfit.

Hurlinglad, does the fact that this is the largest contributed post say something about junior hurling and its following. Yes Kildalkey won well against a fading kilmessan team, but dont knock the other grades. Best of luck in Leinster, but remember Drumree and the tones are also in Leinster and they need support also.
