Apparently the jersey they wore last nite is not the proper new one. I was in jacksy's yesterday and he was tellin me that the new one will be out in 3 weeks and the one last nite was just thrown together for the new sponsors.

I didn't think it was that bad, but nothing too special either. The one thing that struck me was the fact that the floodlights were only turned on at about 7.10. The stack on the terrace, town side, were only just warmed up in time for the game. I arrived about 6.50 and walking up I thought it looked bad that the lights weren't on, place was in total darkness bar the low lighting. Talk about going to extremes to save money!

I hope that's not the new jersey because it is disgusting and although I know I will buy it I won't like wearing it...

Lads, just seen this, show's the jersey, personally I don't think it's too bad. Plain looking but at the same time a fancy jersey won't make you win matches

Disgusting is a bit strong.
It's plain enough though.
Hopefully they'll jazz it up a bit for the final version.

Ah ladies I would've thought findin a few corner backs would be more important to the fans but anyway I hope our 'off the rails' commitee get their wish of a more jazzed up and shiny blouse for the championship. Sure I suppose cheerleaders have their place and opinion too ;)

The Navan fashionistas have their claws sharpened ;) I actually think it's a fairly decent looking jersey, I'm not sure what it is exactly that lads are taking issue with, they have to vary the design when they introduce a new strip so what it is that's gotten your goat? The gold sleeves? They look good to me. Don't have a problem with the shorts either but then again I probably won't be wearing them round town Saturday night.

It could be a lot worse, sometimes I think sports companies are scraping the bottom of the barrell for new designs, just be glad we didn't end up with that Peppy Le Pew skunk stripe down the back of our jerseys like Manchester Utd. had a year back.

I don't think there will be any serious alterations to the final jersey that's released though according to Barney Allen there may be some minor tweaks but I would imagine they will mostly centre on the logo displaying the sponsors. I remember reading a while back that they were still unsure whether to display a shortened 'Comer' logo or go with the full title of 'Comer Group International'. Either way it isn't really going to affect the look of the jersey.

Does anyone else think 'Australia' when they see this kit?

Relax lads, its not that bad! This is the new jersey design. The only chages that might be made to it in 3 weeks will involve the sponsors title on it

Incase you didn't notice this is a thread on the MEATH page about the new MEATH jersey so I think MEATH supporters are entitled to give their opinions on the jersey.

Reaper ... I don't think your comment was too welcome here. Have a better think before you go for another contribution.

I didn't mind the jersey too much. I think it looks well out on the pitch and I haven't seen it in a shop so I will partially reserve judgement. From a distance its not that dissimilar to the jersey we used to have around 95-99 with the yellow sleeves. So if this new design sees us get anything close to the same level of success then I think we'll all be happy .... aside from Reaper who'll still have his team playing in a Vodafone English cricket jersey.

Very strange that they could not organise a finished jersey in three weeks. Me thinks there is a good chance this was the actual jersey, but once people started laughing at it then they back tracked quickly and said it was not the finished article.
My problem is that it looks like a cheap training top, not a proper jersey. I've no interest in the fashion side of it, but you would imagine that O'Neill's would come up with three or four designs, then the board would pick their choice, and then they could rattle out a quick set.
I can't see people queuing up to buy it, which means reduced income for the board from sales and less publicity for Comer Homes, as kids will still be wearing the Menolly one, which at least looks like a proper jersey.
Looks like this was just another botched call on the board's side. It can be added to the list that includes appointing a manager to replace Colm Coyle, running the 2009 SFC and relegation from same.
