Just an observation i have made regarding Donaghmore Ash - when ever the win a match the have a match report posted on this site almost immediately however if they lose a match nothing gets posted, an example of this? Seniors lose Monday - still no report up... B League team win last night - Report up this morning!!! Rest my case...

As far as i am aware the guy who does the second, third and fourth team reports is different guy than the person that does the senior.

It's the same on the club website, very few reports on the first team, or are very late arriving.

yeah a few clubs always have reports up the likes of Carnaross O Mahonys Duleek Ballinlough Moynalvey and kwood how come other clubs cant put up reports as its nice to know how they are getting on and after all thats the PROs Job

Whynot - The reason that some games are posted on Hoganstand and some are not is quite simple. All the senior championship games in Meath are covered by the local press therefore we do not need to do an external match report as the press already have representatives at these games.

In the case of Junior A and D games the local press do not generally turn up to these games so we report on these ourselves and provide the press with the information. Once the report is written for the media it is easy to copy Hoganstand when sending it to the papers hence the greater number of Junior A and D games posted on this website.

It is much the same scenario when you look at the A league Division 1 compared with B leagues.

You may ask do we not write reports for our own web site for our senior championship games? The answer here is yes we do, but these are generally written in a format where we refer to our team as "our lads" rather than Donaghmore Ashbourne" or we may use players nickname rather than Christian and Surname.

As you can appreciate with 4 adult league teams and 3 championship teams the two lads who report on games (and are still trying to train and play as well as bring up young families) have to prioritise their time so the writing of a second senior match report in an external format is often put to the side due to other deadlines.

Finally another point is that the way the fixtures are set up in Meath is that you could have three teams out within a couple of days rather than them spaced out evenly over the year. This does not help to add to the workload.

Donash - O Mahonys V Duleek, Tones V Summerhill and Dunshaughlin v Trim are all SFC match reports currently posted on the site!!! all im saying is in my opinion if 'the moores' won you could bet you bottom dollar the report would be posted and ill stand by that,

In saying that i could be waiting a while to find out the way your lads are playing!! maybe next year when you go back intermediate ill start to see some first team reports being posted alright.....

Whats with all the interest in Don/Ash anyway??Why dont you look after your own club and keep your nose out of ours? Granted,we're having a poor season but we've been ravaged with injuries.The aim now is to keep our senior status and push on in the senior ranks over the next 3 or 4 years. The average age of the team is 22/23 so I cant see us realistically challenging for another 2/3 years. Great to know that everyones interested in how we're getting on though.

Exactly Seal, i know some of the ash players on the senior team and not only were they talking about winning the meath senior, but winning a leinster!! you need to face reality, you are a very average senior team that will more than likely be in a relegation dogfight come the end of the season. And from reading the comments just like the players - the supporters cannot take any citicisim either rgarding their 'fantastic club'...

Begod lads,the green monsters have their jealous claws out here today.......wha.........I reckon Donaghmore Ashbourne will be involved in a 3 way relegation play off with Rathkenny and Waltersown.I would expect them to survive that.Pity that some people just hate to see anyone making any progress.The begrudgers will always be with us....

Back on the original point, and not getting dragged into petty arguments, at least D/A submit reports of games, there are lots of clubs who are still not bothering. I have raised this issue before and it still hasn't improved. Some clubs, Duleek, Ash, BHG, Dunshaughlin nearly always seem to have a report sent in, but there are clubs that just don't bother, for people like me who like seeing whats going on throughout the county it can be quite frustrating

Dead right Brickie,jealousys an awful thing..as for whats written above,thats absolute rubbish.Why people have to go spreading lies like this,I dont know.Like I said we'll be doing well to stay senior this season but keep an eye out for us in 2 or 3 years time. With 3 minor titles in a row before this year and a very young senior team,we should be up there with the likes of O'Mahonys,Tones,Senchalstown in the near future. As for our fantastic clubhouse,we're very fortunate to have a facility that is up there with the best in the country.People having digs at us about match reports of all things have little to be worrying about!!

According to the Meath GAA website there are 58 registered GAA clubs in Meath. Do the Hogan Stand get match reports from all 58 clubs?

It's the role of the PRO to furnish match reports. Problem is, the role of PRO is often one of the last roles to be filled at an AGM. Thankfully my club has a fantastic, energetic young PRO, whose reports are faultless and in general does his best to promote the club at every level.

If your report is not up, blame your PRO.
Same stands for paper and radio.

i agree wit kenyan y do donaghmore have to send the match report in y couldn t st pats. i presume whynot is from duleek and when we played duleek we had a few injuries eg. our midfielder eoin reilly didn t last 10 mins due to injury. i think in less than 10 years we ll be winning championship reguarly we have a great young side.

I dont agree with you DONAGHMORE id say ur barking up the wrong tree there, why would someone from duleek begrudge D/A anything? I think you need to look at neighbouring clubs who play at a very low grade and i think you no who im on about!!! It would be clear that there sounds to be alot of jealousy there from the smaller graded clubs. Senior clubs arent jealous of each other think about it. Its always the ones who dont progress who are jealous. Match reports are always very important but every club is in the same boat whether they win or loose.If match reports are only posted when teams win then its good PRO.
