If the final score was Galway 2-19, Meath 1-14, does that not mean that we were beaten by 8points, not 5 as suggested in a previous post? rosscross (Meath) - Posts: 206 - 08/05/2009 01:01:09 277827 Link 0 |

Thanks Jinxie, as I know that you would have quickly brought me up to speed on similar matters involving Louth. squidword (Louth) - Posts: 2897 - 08/05/2009 10:44:05 277930 Link 0 |

Heard we're playing Kerry on Friday night. Think its in Killarney. men_of_49 (Meath) - Posts: 2003 - 12/05/2009 16:02:57 281286 Link 0 |

Is it definatly on this friday? They could get another game in over the weekend too, maybe cork or tipp. It seems to be what teams are doing latley, getting a few games in when they have the panel together. Only problem would be the A Leagues on sunday. Jinxie (Meath) - Posts: 6347 - 13/05/2009 00:09:59 281781 Link 0 |
Definitely Friday, Jinxie. Haven't heard of any other challenges for the weekend but you're right, it would make sense to play another Munster team over the weekend. A bit strange that we have to travel all the way down to Killarney when Kerry could have come to a more neutral venue. men_of_49 (Meath) - Posts: 2003 - 13/05/2009 18:41:29 282434 Link 0 |
Well this will be a good marker as to where exactly the lads are at. Not aaying there at a level of beating them but it might help show how far they are behind or whatever. Jinxie (Meath) - Posts: 6347 - 13/05/2009 19:58:39 282493 Link 0 |
i'd say the reason that we have to travel is because the likes of kerry can probably pick and choose who they want challenge matches off, they are probably calling all the shots. The same with galway last week, i'd say it was meath requesting a challenge off them, not the other way round. don't think there's many teams that would be coming to us looking for challenge game! rosscross (Meath) - Posts: 206 - 13/05/2009 22:41:50 282645 Link 0 |
Maybe so rosscross, but it seems like every game is outside the county, & no offence ot either Lietrim or roscommon before that, but I doubt they would have been calling the shots. Maybe theres another reason for it, getting the lads outta their own familiar surroundings or what ever, take away any advantage theyd have or maybe just help bring the lads together & focused as a group by spending time away together as a panel. Meath lost to kerry last nite 1-16 to 1-14.kerry had 11 players that started last years all-ireland final playing and the other four (Paul Galvin, sean o sullivan, pauric reidy Not sure of the other fellas name) are regular household names anyway.... Seems like a good run out,no point playing bad teams in these games, however a little concerned that we moved King back to Full Forward, anyone have a break down of the scorers? Plus if anyone could post the Kerry team it would be appreciated. ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 16/05/2009 18:55:18 285301 Link 0 |
The only unusual name there is Stephen Sheridan and he's too light for county football. bennyblanco (Meath) - Posts: 579 - 17/05/2009 12:07:41 285557 Link 0 |
Good to see Brian Farrell starting and building up some match practice against quality opposition. Maybe the injury isn't as bad as everyone thinks. We badly need him to be fit for Dublin and to take the place of Geraghty. men_of_49 (Meath) - Posts: 2003 - 17/05/2009 20:59:29 285841 Link 0 |
Anyone got anymore info on the game. Who got the scores, what subs used & so on. Shane mc - im guessing this was McAnarney. Or was it McKeigue? Jinxie (Meath) - Posts: 6347 - 17/05/2009 21:29:32 285869 Link 0 |
