Why blame the manager? If the players dont want to go to games what can he do? Seannie Og (Down) - Posts: 952 - 02/06/2010 17:28:34 665832 Link 0 |

No need to stick the boot/camán in to the club. Its a shame to see any hurling team disappear in this county. If they had just got their first win somewhere along the way they would still have enough boys interested to keep it alive. Suas Sios (None) - Posts: 1558 - 02/06/2010 21:54:23 666184 Link 0 |

"Like a comet they lit up our lives" before being cruely extinguished by the waves from the sea of tranquility that over shadows Warrenpoint at this time as they struggle to release themselves from this hurling vacuum that besought the area known as the "POINT". May they resurrect their hurling ambitions as the phoenix rose from the ashes!!!!! cahill (None) - Posts: 2567 - 03/06/2010 08:33:04 666209 Link 0 |

if portaferry II folded that just means that the players will be playing III, making it more of a disadvantage to the other teams and the players who were originally on the III teams God7 (Down) - Posts: 354 - 03/06/2010 10:58:37 666316 Link 0 |
Good sporting game last night in Castlewellan vs Carryduff. Castlewellan played some great team hurling but also hit a shocking amount of chances wide. The bulk of Carryduffs score came from soft frees awarded by a very bad ref. 65yards (Down) - Posts: 3 - 03/06/2010 12:52:12 666476 Link 0 |

tut tut not a good idea slating referees. If castlewellan had so many wides you can hardly blame the ref. and castlewellan did win this one . clonduffhurler (Down) - Posts: 36 - 03/06/2010 13:19:16 666513 Link 0 |
Sometimes Div 2 could be harder to ref than Div 1 because the players are more clumsy. Frank Mitchell (Down) - Posts: 1082 - 03/06/2010 13:47:50 666573 Link 0 |

well are you saying that they did fold one of their teams or did not. i agree with what you are saying about young players playing at a higher level but what i do not understand is that the young minors who are making the breakthrough are not likely to get onto these teams(the II and senior team) that is the principle of having these teanms, to give a game to the players. all i am saying is that it gives younger hurlers a place to play, especially when they leave minor level. Not a regular fan at div2 matches but i see all the results. Clonduff seem to be going well in div 2, a good win against ballycran and a good win against castlewellan, from what i hear they were 9 or 10 up going into the last 5 mins of both matches. Is this development starting to happen or just a couple of good results?? Davidhealy (Down) - Posts: 13 - 03/06/2010 21:53:03 667163 Link 0 |
The result between portaferry and warrenpoint surprises me in one way, but doesnt in another. I get that the ports would be very strong at home, but having played warrenpoint this year i feel they are greatly improved and thought they'd get a bit closer. maybe they were missing a few or something? good win for kilclief aswell against ballela who have been going well recently. all non-ards teams in div1 are pretty evenly matched this year which is good to see. just hope the standard is improving too. bgael (None) - Posts: 211 - 04/06/2010 12:40:54 667459 Link 0 |
The Bredagh v Liatroim was a great advertisement for division 1 hurling. weepats5 (Down) - Posts: 295 - 04/06/2010 12:51:31 667481 Link 0 |
The W/point side who traveled to Portaferry on wed nite wasn't the strongest team we fielded this year. Missing a fair few regulars. In saying that, the Port fowards were excellent. Easily some of the best hurling i have seen this year with some really cracking scores. And their left corner back, who was pretty young had a very good game. And i heard a few ports saying that he doesn't train. Which is a shame, cause the young lad is very talented. Tom.Mull (Down) - Posts: 108 - 04/06/2010 18:19:57 667900 Link 0 |
