bgael- That is a decent result against Clonduff away, only a goal in it. We play them next before the long awaited derby game with yous'ns.

Ballygalget 3-8 Ballycran 2-9

That was Div 2. Ballycran's Div 1 team played Liatroim on Tuesday.

Surprised that Ballygalget won that. What happened the mighty Crans?

Just noticed that Bredagh have 7 home games, not bad in a league that only has 9 games. Surely that can't be right!!
Only one result for Kilclief? Are they having trouble fielding?

Only 9 games? Where did you get that from? There are 18 games.

they'er safer just lettin the clubs try and fulfill as many fixtures as they want, sure if there not played so what its hardly gonna effect who gets relegated or promoted anyway

Bgeal if the league is home and away that will have less of an impact but I am pretty sure its one leg only. The importance of getting of to a good start in the league is critical, especially for the weaker teams. It can define your whole season. So who you get and weather its home or away is important. It's not a swipe at Bredagh, good luck to you. I just wish we had been so lucky. The general point was to highlight the lack of thought by who ever creates the fixture list. There are now an even number of teams in both div 1 & 2 so there should be an open draw and a home/away game on alternative weeks.
The decision for only playing one leg was that the hurlers never completed the fixtures, unfortunately for Kilclief they seem to be suffering from other teams messing about already and the season has only started. This messing about vindicates the decision to only play one leg but does nothing to improve hurling in the county.

Is the one round of fixtures for both divisions? Castlewellan only have two home games, 1st and last games are at home.

I could be missing something renaissance man but I can only see one round of fixtures(9 weeks of 5 games = 45 games) on Down gaa web site!
I hope your right, if hurling in this part of the world has any chance of improving we need more games. That said hurling teams should field as per fixture list no matter how strong or weak they are. If Bredagh & Warrenpoint can field 2 teams on a Wednesday night, there is no excuse for other clubs not fielding unless there at it.
