The pitch at Millbrook is actually in Crossdrum which comes under the parish of Ballinacree/ Mountnugent. Anders Frisk (Meath) - Posts: 22 - 22/04/2009 14:12:56 265171 Link 0 |
Oldcastle G.F.C. have two pitches at the moment, there new one is located just outside the town which is Millbrook. Milbrook is actually in the Ballinacree parish. The other pitch is located in the centre of the town beside the show-hall. Oldcastle never actually owned this pitch it belong to the town council. theonionsack (Meath) - Posts: 8 - 22/04/2009 17:14:44 265415 Link 0 |
I was at the opening of the St. Brigids G.F.C. dressing rooms, I was amazed with the great set-up they had there. Full credit to them. Great day for the club. I was suprised to see them win the whole 7-a-side tournament, I know its only mickey mouse but they entered two teams as Ballinlough withdrew from the tournament. theonionsack (Meath) - Posts: 8 - 22/04/2009 17:19:25 265420 Link 0 |
I have to agree regarding St Brigids, Very progressive club and great facilities there now. The community spirit in Ballinacree is and has always been excellent and they are fanatical GAA people there. Regarding Oldcastle being a tough team Colm O Rourke maintianed that the toughest player he ever played against anywhere in Ireland came from Oldcastle - John McEnroe he also maintained that this player was good enough of a footballer to have been part of Sean Boylans set up. McEnroe was a great player, very tough. wouldn't have likened to be the opposition!!. I think he played under Sean in the latter end, he definetly played junior anyway. Again north meath was never recognised them days, if he was an O'Mahonys or a Simonstown man he would have had an upperhand. rocknroyal (Meath) - Posts: 308 - 22/04/2009 23:30:47 265819 Link 0 |

Whats oldcastle's chance in championship now? A good win to start with but can they keep it up blueroyal (Meath) - Posts: 109 - 01/05/2009 20:51:21 273588 Link 0 |
Ronan Farrelly should have been a Meath regular a few years back. Believe he has now retired due to injury, is this true? Gave Syddan a fair beating a few weeks ago though Syddan are going bad anyway. Don't think they are potential winners if up against the likes of Kilmainhamwood, the Michaels or Dunderry. bennyblanco (Meath) - Posts: 579 - 01/05/2009 23:40:05 273700 Link 0 |

blueroyal if you're an oldcastle man then you should no better than to be starting threads like this. getonyourboots (Meath) - Posts: 34 - 12/06/2009 21:48:09 309921 Link 0 |
Was at match last night Clan na Gael won by 5 points, this seems to me to be a very young Oldcastle side and if they can keep them together and stay intermediate they wont be too far off the mark in the next couple of years. Any inter team that loses the likes of the two farrellys is gonna struggle to rebuild, but the've a young gilsenan playing for them and he's gonna be a class act. hootervillian (Meath) - Posts: 309 - 14/06/2009 16:47:55 310818 Link 0 |
