Darren Fay is the best iv seen, knew when to be physical and when to be cute, the above lads wouldnt get near him in his prime...
I wouldnt say canty as he's more suited to out the field, FB is a specialised position...
Honourable mention to finian hanley, he's a joy to watch...

gaillimh save for your bias how could you pick hanley, every time we play ye declan maxwell cleans him, he simply is afraid of maxi and maxi isn't even the best full forward in connaught let alone the country. francie, the limerick fello, john mckeon .... are just some who are equally just as good as hanley, i'd say canty is the best

true johnston took him to town last year, altho he did it to plenty more lads aswell, canty a great man to have as sweeper/center half.

This post really shows how the old style commanding full back is gone out of the game. People can only name 3 at a push (and thats assuming Barry Owens gets back to his form before injury and i have no doubt he will). Big Francie was perhaps the last of the old breed!

The All-Stars would also suggest that Sean Cavanagh is the best left half forward in the country despite having never played in that position.......

You heard it here first lads ........... in a year's time we will no doubt having the same thread and i can assure you the name on many people's lips will be David Moran. The lad is an outstanding midfielder but will star at full back for Kerry this year.
