Eoin Doyle Sending Off - 4 Like(s)

Replying To Tir Conaill Abu:  "I was behind the Kildare dug out. The ref warned Doyle to get a gum shield, a warning he ignored. The bench went looking for a replacement for him, he was then instructed to leave the pitch to get a gum shield. The keeper took the kick out which he caught as he was in open space (The Donegal player didn't follow him knowing he was leaving the field). The ref issued him with a yellow and play started again. Doyle got the gum shield from the bench which he then placed in his sock. When the ball went dead the ref realised he had booked Doyle twice and then issued him with the red. Harsh maybe but he set the precedent at the start when instructing a player from each team to get their gum shields in before he threw in the ball. The fact it happens everywhere and not enforced is true but is David Gough wrong or the other refs that don't implement it."
Wow man. You must have bionic hearing and great mind reading powers. You could hear all that said in dugout, on pitch and at the same time read the Donegal players thoughts. Any chance of Wednesday's lotto numbers? I smell porkies!

Replying To Furlong1949:  "I meant to say two very sick elderly parents, my parents are sick. I didnt explain that right. I just wanter to state that. To explain fullj why I probaly write completely different to eveyrone on the forum."
For you to have all that on your plate, and still post on this forum is a credit to your resilience. I missed most of Kildare matches in 18 and 19 as you I had two very ill parents, dementia. Both have now passed away, my beautiful mother only died on Christmas eve. It made me realise what is truly important. To go to the effort you do, to share your knowledge, without any spite or nastiness, and then be attacked for a few errors. Crazy stuff. I had given up posting to HS because of the spite, even found myself responding in a similar manner, and I did want to be that sort of man, so I stopped. But I always check in to HS, and it is posts like yours that make it worth while. Love your historical posts. As a Nth. Kildare man, married to a Meath lady, whose parents are Mayo 'migrants', I found your recent posts excellent. So lads, winding up and good natured sagging is fine, but the nasty, mean-spirited stuff? There is no need for it. And as regards a few Meath and Kildare posters who mock and demean each others team, cop on, no county player goes out to play poorly. The commitment and effort our young county men put in to play at County level, deserves more respect. Constructive criticism is one thing, but nasty piss-taking? Go to Twitter.

Replying To TobinsBeard:  "I hope you remember this silly post when you are walking home, glumly, muttering to yourself, on Jone's road, after getting your backside handed to you on a plate by Kerry Or Dublin or Tipperary or whoever. Pride comes before a fall and all that!"
Pot and kettle comes to mind regarding you my friend. Think you need to reflect on your own posts. As regards respect it has to be earned. Many Meath fans in my immediate area at match were an embarrassment in the bole and abuse directed at their own players. And then started to walk out with 10-15 mins to go. And as for the two middle aged Muppets who abused Cian O N_roaring at him in extreme language to go the f back to Kerry and that Kildare couldn't find a manager on their own county. Ignorance is bliss.

Replying To galwayford:  "Where is the proof in what you post. Where are the links. It is all just hearsay and fake news until I see the links. Sometimes I think you have a deep grudge against the GAA."
I am from the club I think he is referring to in Kildare. And he is correct. After losing intermediate final there were large crowds in Kilcock club bar. Now local businesses closing as many staff were in close contact to people who have been diagnosed with covid. One class in a school closed over this. Large Spike in cases in locality connected to this. Total lack of regard for our community.

Ah for God's sake man, is that the best you can come up? If you don't like Furlongs posts skip by. The man has phenomenal knowledge. Fantastic posts on old Kildare teams, and the effect the land commission scheme had on parts of Meath and Kildare.

Replying To eoinog:  "Congratulations to Kildare. We had zero luck today. All subs used up by the 9th minute of the second half. Injuries hit us hard and I also believe that we should have got a penalty. That would have made it very interesting. Kildare are a fine team.. As for the young ones shouting and banging, I would prefer to listen to them rather than some of the idiots of adults that attend the game's"
Watched it when I got home, never a peno.

Is it more a case that Dublin, considering population, clubs etc., just underperformed up to this dominance? Now they have a great system and process in place they are actually making use of all their resources. Deeper talent pool when managed right leads to better results. And results bring in more resources. It does bring to the fore then the question how do smaller, less populous counties compete? Split Dublin? Two tier competition? Open draw, get rid of provincials? But it seems to be forgotten that it also takes huge amount of talent, efficiency and effort to get where Dublin are.... This is a squad of some good to great footballers. If I was a Dublin fan I would be getting a bit pissed off at a lot of the narrative on here.

If there is to be any sense of equal justice in the GAA both Andy M and Jason S have to face what others have faced previously for similar offences. And to be fair both Andy and Jason S were treated very leniently by media so far...

Sad post singling out one player from one of the younger teams in the country who were playing one of the best teams. I presume Sir you have a pocket full of AI medals....or are they full of lemons considering the usual Meath bitterness. Best team won, great to go to a game and not have to listen to the bile and venom I endured the last day.

Dublin v Kildare - 2 Like(s)

Replying To Furlong1949:  "The problem for Kildare is a problem for all leinster counties for the last 100 years. If you want to be the best in leinster you have to take down the Dubs. This is never easy . They are always in the top 3 to 4 teams in the country. They are the most difficult opponent to beat in Gaelic football. It's no coincidence that teams that have beaten Dublin have been the greatest teams to come from counties that defeated Dublin . Playing v Dublin in full croker is the closest thing to an All Ireland final. Kildare have a poor record v Dublin. Kildare are more obsessed about Meath. While Meath have been more obessesed about Dublin for decades. That's the difference. For decades Kildare play brilliantly v Meath. They reserve there best performances v Meath. And worst v Dublin. Their best performances in the 90s were 97 98 games v Meath. A double All Ireland winning Meath team. Their last big win in Croker was v Meath in 2010 q final in Croker. A Meath team that had reached two semi final and beaten the great Tyrone team Galway Mayo and hammered Dublin in thr championship. Their last win in Croker was v Meath under Banty. Their best performances in this years league and championship was v Meath . Two weeks before they played Meath in the league they played Dublin third team. And the intensity Kildare showed v Meath was unreal. When they played Dublins third team. Their was no intensity by Kildare whatsoever. That is Kildare problem. When they play Meath because they hate Meath so much because of jealousy and begrugery their hatred delivers brillant performances. But when they play Dublin they are much meeker submissive the white jersey's are like white flags surrendering to Dublin for generations. And that's the problem if you want to be sucessful in leinster beating Meath is nothing special. Beating Dublin is. I have only saw one game and half game in my lifetime of 30 years were Kildare really put it up to Dublin and that was in 98 and 2000. That was Kildare only win in leinster final v Dublin in 100 years. Dublin have kildare in a mental straight jacket. Their is a mental barrier for Kildare. They used to say Kildare were afraid of Dublin especially when kildare went AWOL and disappeared of GAAa top table to Division 3 and 4 between 1930-1990. Maybe it is true. Maybe Kildare are afraid of Dublin. One thing is for certain they have no belief when it comes to playing Dublin. That's a serious barrier to sucess."
Oh sweet Jesus. Get over yourself lad, such infatuation is not good for the soul

Replying To Furlong1949:  "Thank you commander for your kind words towards me. I do really appreciate them. I am so sorry to hear about your mother and father. To hear your mother passed away on Christmas Eve, my heart goes out to you. I know a little about about dementia. My mothers sister who was very close to my mother , a beautiful woman in every way , also suffered from demetia. She passed away in the last few years. I know how tough it is to see loved ones having to deal with dementia. I know how tough it was on my mother to see her sister suffering from dementia. So I am so sorry to hear that about your mother and father. Thank you again for your kind words. I do appreciate them and take care."

The amount of posts warbling on about Kildare not being motivated to do Meath a favour are an insult to Clare. Barring a few posts there is not a mention that Meath still have a game to play. Astounding considering the rattle Clare gave our lads on Sunday.

Can I ask my fellow Kildare fans to please stop bringing sniper rifles to matches! It's the only explanation for the catastrophic injuries that caused so many Kerry men to drop like sacks of potatoes. Or maybe a certain Brazilian player has Kerry DNA.
