McGeeney not the composed tactician you want with the heat on. His antics at the end of normal time were ridiculous.

Replying To ORIELMAN85: "Old news. Was a story when he applied for the Monaghan job 3 year ago. Innocent until proven guilty." I think given the origin of this story, its certainly not old news.

The courage it takes to publicly speak about such things is just immense. For the GAA to ignore what has happened would be inconceivable.

Kerry Vs Tyrone - 3 Like(s)
The GAA should have had a very clear stance on this prior to the start of the championship. The only feasible stance is that counties put out their best team available to them as happens in professional soccer etc
Otherwise you're into a world of continuous postponements at any given time running the real risk of the championship becoming farcical.
Tyrone should play this game with the best team available to them and get on with it, Covid won't go away anytime soon and will impact all counties at all levels.

Tyrone Withdrawl From AI Semi Final. - 3 Like(s)
There's precious little actual facts surrounding this - I've read all week about an outbreak of covid and numerous players out but no actual details.
Have Tyrone actually clarified how many players currently have covid ? How many are currently isolating ?
This seems a petulant move in the absence of actual evidence they can't fulfil the fixture.
Best of luck Kerry in the final.

Smart move by Kerry agreeing to another week - they want the game in preparation for Mayo. Little to be gained giving Tyrone another grievance to add to their list.

Tyrone Boycott Of RTE - 2 Like(s)
Replying To seanie_boy: "Sure it's not gonna affect your life so don't worry about it. It's surprising to see how many people from other counties that are bothered by Mickey not speaking to rte. Many of them don't really know the reason why,and for those who do know you'd wonder if they'd feel the same if it was them that lost their daughter and then had her memory sleighted in this very crass manner. You all need to stop worrying about how Tyrone GAA conduct their own affairs. Worry about your own county's and you'll be worrying plenty." I'm sure Mickey suffers everyday thinking of his daughter. I'm sure Mickey also knows what it's like to inadvertently make a mistake and insult victims - like his character reference for Ronan McCusker. It's a pity we can't move on but we'll leave it there and look forward to the final.

Replying To veterngaa: "Ye that's the thing…at the moment it's just a social media post. An official complaint would need to be made. There is due process… not the trial by social media brigade" I don't see any witch hunt here. A disturbing allegation seems to have been made and its incumbent now on the GAA, particularly Derry, to step in and make clear that the allegations are being treated with the utmost respect and seriousness.

Replying To joeteor: "19 available was what I read can't remember where, so thats 11 with covid or isolating? Not sure of the panel size." I've heard numbers as well but nothing actually official. Again today there's no actual details in their statement.
It seems the easiest thing in the world for Tyrone to say today: we've X players tested positive and Y players identified by NHS as close contacts and self isolating. Where are those details in today's statement ?

Declan Rice - 2 Like(s)
Whatever about 19yos not knowing their arse from their elbow, they do know what their nationality is and where their National loyalty resides.
Rice either feels more English than Irish (fair enough) or he feels it would benefit him more in terms of his career prospects if he played for England. Either way we should move on and leave him to it.

Replying To Breffni1969: "I think it's the final the public want too. At least they both play attacking football.
Ulster football is in dire straits with mind boggling negative tactics and Derry and Monaghan plus Armagh/ Tyrone are sore on the eye .
Least we will have a proper final.
Wake up Ulster and start playing football and get rid of lazy negative coaches who are destroying the game" Agree. Being from the north shouldn't mean we can't be honest with ourselves. Ulster football is dire. Competitive but an eyesore all the same. Give me Dublin v Kerry all day long.

Replying To AfricanGael: "What do you mean "official", when the GPA say "50 percent of the Tyrone squad have contracted Covid-19", that's official enough." By official, I mean the Tyrone County Board - not third party reports.
Why are the Tyrone County Board treating these details like the third secret of Fatima ?

A rare win for Down against Tyrone. Off the back of the 2021 success this hopefully augurs well for the future.

A fantastic game. Fair play to O'Toole in going for that goal at the death. I suspect most would have fisted that over the bar to take the game to ET.

Replying To Newmitch: "Great start by Down, decision making was excellent taking their points and seeming to dominate. The goal seemed to take the wind out of their sails, they never got back on track. Meath according to commentators looked stronger and fitter which is to be expected of a Division Two team. Down who usually finish strongly in the last twenty minutes were completely run off their feet. I don't know why, is the fitness that takes years to build up not there yet, or did the occasion get to the team. Meath showed more maturity, didn't panic or force things the way Down ended up doing. Meath were deserved winners on the day.
Down seemed to be set up very deep, with too many men behind the ball and every time I heard that Pat Havern was working away in defence I thought this set up is wrong. There was no sign of Downs strengths pace and running. Disappointing ending to an overall very good season where the highs out weighed the lows. The team are in good hands I believe and have done much to restore pride in Down football and deserve praise for all their efforts." While there were highlights, Donegal, Cavan and Laois come to mind, to describe it as a very good season is just nonsense.
We failed to secure Sam Maguire football, coming up short in the league and the secondary comp. We missed the key objective.
We failed to address a key defenciency which first serviced in Enniskillen - namely a keeper that simply cant cope under a high ball.
