Callanan
Joyce McClearn Canning
Kavanagh Lee Moore
Hynes Smyth
Callanan Donnellan Kerins
Hayes Callanan Healy

Any suggestions or improvemnets on this. I genuinely think that they would put it up to Kilkenny

Last time I checked Galway had only two Callanans on the panel, presume the third one you're on about is actually Adrian Cullinane. Ya, hard to see the cats having any hope against that Galway team. Glad to see you've dropped Joe Canning, the guy is useless.....do you get a buzz of some sort posting that rubbish?

ive a feeling this is what the team will be, no.12 could change though, but we could do with ger and joe doing frees and side-line to keep us close.

An error at full forward meant to write Canning. Stay at home from Tullamore if you're going with that attitude. No place for Cullinane at all in any position

i would agree with longsocks we need to win our puckouts mcclearn at full back has held eddie brennan to four points in two games the walsh cup and railway cup final not many players have achieved that just have slight doubts about the goalie

Galway have every chance against Kk if they play their own game and don't try and match Kk's way of playing the man.The refs are very strict this year and yellow cards are being given for taps on the body with the hurley,I expect the ref will be busy, good luck, hope it's a great game of hurling.

Lads from what I can see, in the teams that were mentioned there are very few players that are consistently being name in a set position. Only 3 , O.Canning, Lee, D.Hayes, all other players have been named in different positions for each of the teams. This I feel is Galways big problem, the players nailing down there positions has been rare lately and the lack of that most important element of a settled team is missing which I think will inevitably be our downfall. Which is not to say that Galway dont have the players to beat KK or go on to an all-Ireland they do. They have good and some great players in the squad but consistency in performances has to be found in order for that settled team to be achieved. Best of luck Galway and lets bring the Leinster trophy over the shannon!!

We cannot play Shane Kavanagh at full back as he will be cleaned out, and Fergal Moore is a far better corner back than half back at this level, he was brilliant against Kilkenny in 07, and Kilkenny only really go on top when he went off injured. While it would be great to win a Leinster title in our first year, I think the most vital thing is that on Saturday week whatever 15 hurlers go out representing Galway, do so with pride, desire and heart, ready to die for the Galway jersey. A victory against Kilkenny would be great, but at the end of the day its only a Leinster semi final, so its vital that we come out of this match with a lot of pride (like Tipp in the league final) and knowing our best team for the first time in over three years.

What is the story with Wade as he has really disapppeared off the scene since the quarter final against Kilkenny in 2007?

moore will be wing back, he is an unreal corner back and could nearly get an allstar there but we need him wing back he played all his under age hurling number five i dont know why he went corner in the first place.

I wonder would we ever experiment with Ollie in the forwards again heard he gave a good display for Port the last day plus Fergal Moore is a natural at left corner back anyway?
Would also not rule out putting him centre back as his reading of the game and delivery would be key here.....just a few wild card options??

The high ball was always Fergals only fault and now that he's improved it there is now reason why he can't play centre back

Kilkenny are a team in decline, we will beat them no problem! I mean it, the only thing that will stop us beating them is fear of them; We are better hurlers than them, Faster, more style, and we have JOE CANNING.. The end is near for KILKENNY, we are approaching another few years of GALWAY V TIPP; It has to happen sooner or later, and now is the time; BYE-BYE, KILKENNY..You were great:
