Tomsmith here, Ballinagh as a club team can not enter the All Ireland championship and indeed it would ne a novel idea
I don't know did it ever happen that football club 15 represented the County at senior level.
I do know that it happened in Hurling alright

Seano Rinn.

While I wish Ballinagh well in this victory I feel that for the better of Cavan Football a big club winning the senior championship is best.
If you look at when the senior County Cavan team was doing well in the past you always had a big team winning the County championship.
And last but not least don't forget Ballinaghs last run in the intermediate championship.
Do you remember it Shaun

I remember it for sure Tom and your clubs agains St Gauls five or six years ago so people in glass house I am sure you know what I mean ????

I'd say Ballinagh are happy enough to be county champions

Now that Ballinagh have gone from the Ulster Championship should we not implored on Cavan GAA to put out the strongest/most experienced team against the Ulster opposition.
I feel that fact that we got to Croke Park with the Cavan senior team we could also have progressed against the Fermanagh opposition had we a more experienced team playing against them like Cavan Gaels

so your suggestion would be despite ballinagh winning the championship, the gaels should of represented cavan in ulster? Are you for real?

Tom could be on to something here lads. By Gaels representing the county in the Ulster Club championship as they have done unsuccessfully so many times in the past, it would save all the other clubs having the hassle of training, travelling to matches etc.
My understanding Tom, is to represent the county, you have to be capable of winning the said championship first. Something the gaels have failed to do this year ( again)
You can have all the experience in the world but if you cant deliver on the big day, it counts for nothing.

No of course he's not for real. I'm sure the majority of people on here have figured out by now that tomsmith is an internet troll, and for those of you who don't know what that is, it is somebody who posts online purely to annoy and windup others. that's all he's at.

Johhnydram stirring,and Eats,

Tomsmith here. All of you are missing the point that we are trying to gain a high profile in Ulster and with a team going out that gets beat against weak opposition I say I will do our case no good trying to get further big games into Breffni Park in 2014.

Tom get it into your head Ballinagh are a better team than the Gaels they are after all the Senior County Champions.
Bad decisions made against them and with Fermanagh over turning two red cards for players the odds against Ballinagh and any other team in Cavan were practically ZERO

Get it into your head that the Gaels are have been ( for the last ten years)and hopefully will be the best team in Cavan for the next ten years.
We in the Gaels club have many Championships in the past 10 years and only for a few questionable decisions (ie put manners on the big club) we would have had more championships under our belt.
No anti- Gaels propaganda by small club/small minded Cavan people will take from Cavan greatest servants to the Gaelic Alethic Association of Cavan ie CLCG Cavan Gaels

Lads as a non cavan poster on Hoganstand it amuses me the level of abuse Cavan gaels get from other Cavan people and the level of abuse Gaels supporters throw at every other club in the county is hilarious.

Now to the point that was made by a certain troll...re sending the strongest team out to represent Cavan in Ulster is stupid.

Give me an honest answer on this, how many times have the gaels represented cavan and won a match in ulster...I don't think they have!!! They are not strong enough or the standard of game within the county good enough..

And before any one says it, this is not a go at Cavan, the club game in Meath is just as bad

I don't know why the admin continues to allow that troll to post utter nonsense. unfortunately some people can't help themselves and reply to him. he is at it again on the Main forum too with his usual drivel about xmas do for HS posters and people think he is genuine.

Tom its well know I am not a Cavan Gaels fan but I can tell you even I would have got a county final out of most of their current team yes please note I say most. Tell me taking Chesty out of CHB and put on a person who did nothing for the whole match was the correct call you know and every dog on the ditch knows this was a huge mistake. No matter I hear you have a new joint management set up so more of the same.
Tell you what Tom give me the job allow me to remove the baggage yes baggage selectors on the ditch and family comes first attitude and I guarantee you I would win the senior title next year once allowed to remove the baggage ect. No charge only expense would be my choice of trainer.

Now fella chew on that ????

Sean Tom is no more a Cavan Gaels fan than you are.You are bang on the money with your comments. The baggage and family attitude you mention will not change because the desire to change is not there. The outgoing manager tried it and look where it got him!

Not sure he did but thats for another day, as I stated above get rid of the baggage and make the Gaels a proud team once again.
A manager a good Cavan trainer plus one other get rid as I said of the baggage along with all these stats people. If I was manager and I could not see from the side line what these experts see from the stand and press boxes I would go up in the stand. If you cannot see the issues well then you should not be in the position in the first place.
One other thing if you don't train you don't play no matter who you are, this causes more friction within the dressing room than any other single issue..

While its the status quo up in Terry Coyle there will alway's be issues.

There we are and Glanswillie are into the Ulster final and perhaps with a bit of foresight and a wee bit of luck we Cavan (Gaels) could have been in the same place.
I am sure a lesson was learned for some people

so by your logic Tom the team who won the most championships in recent years should be the representitive. Therefore Crossmaglen Rangers should now represent Ulster !!!
The thing about the teams who are currently in the final is they actually won their county final !!!

Ballinagh fully deserved there victory. And by no means were they a disappointment in Ulster. They put in a whole hearted second half display against Roslae who were clearly a very strong and superior team on the day. These are a great bunch of young lads and could win several more titles in years to come!
