Gaelsutd, I don't think he was on the Donegal panel. He wasn't even on the Four Masters first team cos of Paul Durcan!!

No he was on panel and in goal for 4 masters. Durcs was playing full forward for over a year!

O'Meara
McLoughlin McEnroe Clarke
Hayes Clarke D Reilly
Corr Givney
M Reilly B Reilly McKeaver
J Brady E Keating Dunne
R Flanagan, D Mc Kiernan, Mackey, Mooney, Conroy on bench. Mc Enroe has turned in good performances in league, i cant se anyone better for this position .Martin Reilly is very versatile and gets through a lot of work linking up play and when on song takes some great scores Either Mc Loughlin or Hayes could mark Jamie Clarke, they are very similar players, both fast both good man markers. Cant see Rory Dunne in the mix he hasn't played enough football. Jack will probably come out the field he's a very smart player who can play that role best. Without Gearoid the Winning of loose ball will be very important and both Martin and Damiean Reilly Corr and Hayes are all well fit to do that. Up front Martin Dunne is very comfortable in Breifne give him the ball and he will deliver. If the team player version of Keatinge turns up we are well in with a shout. At midfield Corr has to be there in the absence of Gearoid , he takes the game to the opposition and like Martin Reilly turns in some great scores often goals. David Givney has had a good year in college and railway he will stand u to the plate for Cavzn and will command midfield. We have a winning team/ panel. Terry Hyland will deliver.

agree with upft,
only hope Givney plays mid-field. Keating will deliver, he is a quality player and he will only improve playing with a top side like Sylvesters. Brady is v clever and good at out field role. but his position is in the corner, anyway from waht I hear he's ruled out as well with injury. Enda Reilly would go in the corner on my team. Don't know about Mc enroe, inconsistent. Jason Mc Louhlin has to be on the team.

That's a strong team, would put Dec Mc Kiernan in if Jack Brady not available. We had an up and down league so hoping for a bit of a run in Ulster goog luck to Hyland and the whole panel.

Good win over Meath in challenge game, 3-14 to 1-13. A different team was put out in each half, Killian Clarke played two halves at midfield as far as I know, details on the Cavan GAA twitter page.

Well done today lads. I'd fancy you to beat Armagh. Looking very fit and strong. I'm sure there will be a write up tomorrow on the Meath section if you want to know the details.

It's hard to rely on challenge matches. Meath have become very inconsistent of late for whatever reason - they had some good patches in the final against Monaghan and then were overrun in the closing stages. Still they always play with a decent level of intensity even in challenge games so it's good to see that our lads were looking fit and sharp and that most contenders for places got game time.

Winning is a great habit to get into so any kind of a win will help the young players confidence. Interesting to hear Killian Clarke played midfield. Could he be an option against Armagh. Remember he did swing things in the last 15 mins when moved out against Cork. Could he and Givney be a midfield duo? Also good to hear Keating is starting to hit form!! There seems to be lots of options this year. Just such a pity big Gearoid isent around to pull the strings but I would have huge faith in Givney to blossom. I think he could be the star of the show. Some reports saying Jack Brady could be out . Any truth in these rumours? Also would love to see Niall Smith in there. He really is a classic wing forward in the Steve Duggan mould.
So lets hope we have no more injuries and we go in with plenty of hope. A run in the Ulster Championship is long overdue!!

tough on the players to play a game last night and then another one for clubs today. well done to them for the effort they are putting in but the CB would want to get they're house in order. 2 games in 2 days and now missing the next 2 or 3 club games, who looks at the fixture list in there and says 'yep, that's it, perfect, well done'

Well said wishfulthinkin. Two games in 24 hours is a good way to pick up injuries and we can hardly afford to lose any more players.
There has to be a better way.

To be fair lads, Killian Clarke was the only outfield player who played a full game v Meath. The rest just played 1 half. 3 halves of football in 2 days isn't the end of the world for lads who are by now in Championship shape.

People not informed here as per usual. Clubs who had players playing Friday night were directed not to play them the next day.

so the county board classes a challenge game as more important than club games.....
