if hoganstand stopped posting selective posts and made this an honest forum a lot of truth would come to the surface. ?????

Jonsmith... I'm not questioning his integrity I'm question his contribution to the senior team as a selector TC .. Joint manager with Val. And selector with Val.

So Hyland is now to blame for the woes of Cavan football? Despite being the first manager in 15 years to win us a trophy and the first man in God knows how many years to manage a Cavan team to back to back Ulster titles.

Hyland has contributed enough at U21 level to warrant his chance. You can not equate what contribution he has had to the Senior setup no more than you can any other member of the backroom team.
You are entitled to believe that he is not the man for the job, but hinting that he didn't do his best for the team by holding back in order to let Andrews hang is crossing a line.

I'm not hinting at anything. I'm saying it seems he let Val make mistakes.if he wasn't happy with the McCutcheon situation when Val was in charge why didn't he come out and say so. He has a mouth hasn't he?? Or does he just put up and shut up until the manager resigns and then change things when he gets the job himself. That to me is letting the manager make his own mistakes. And that kinda football politics has been going on in Cavan for 40 years..We have had our fair share of glory hunters on the field. We don't need them off the field either

If as you assert that he should have come out against val the first instance he disagreed with him, then you clearly don't understand how a back room functions. Ideas are put forward, opinions offered, debate ensues, decision is reached (and not always with 100% agreement), if every body was to go public about everything they disagreed with, what a redicious sit uation we would find ourselves in....
I disagree with Seany being cut
I disagree with mackey being cut
I disagree with Kevin meehan being on panel,
I disagree with james reilly as starting keeper
I disagree with the substitution of cullivan,
I disagree with that instruction to that player
I disagree with the praised offer to such and such
I disagree with the the choice of half time refreshment
I disagree with the meal choice after the game
I disagree with this drill in training,
I disagree with having 12 footballs for warm up instead of 14
I disagree with the managers choice of aftershave
is this waht you want?

Why would he have to 'come out' and say anything?? Is it not enough to say it behind closed doors?? And we have no reason to assume he didn't do so. You're talking absolute rubbish.

Can you name any instance in which a selector has spoken out against the actions of the first in command?

Jonsmith... Check out the reasons why Liam harnan resigned as Meath selector last year. Check out the reasons why ciaran Carey resigned as a Limerick selector last week. In a nutshell they weren't happy with the way things were going and what was going on behind the scenes. Real men those two. And were real men on the field too. No messing. Too much back stabbing politics in Cavan football since the 1970s.. And it still going on. A blind man can see that

Your veiled insults to Hyland here are disgusting Richie. To suggest that he has somehow stabbed Andrews in the back is, at best, disrespectful in the extreme to a man doing his utmost for Cavan football.

Look jonsmith I asked a few questions about his contribution to the team both as a selector and joint manager.. I also stated if he wasn't happy with what was going on behind the scenes why didn't he do what Liam harnan in Meath did or ciaran Carey in Limerick, I don't see where that's being disrespectful. Or do we in Cavan not like a few home truths??? I'd also question the county board too if you want to know.. The same CB who recommended a joint managers 18 mths ago. Then recommended Andrews as manager 8 months ago and have now recommended Hyland as manager.. That's 3 different set ups the sane CB have recommended to the clubs in 18 months.. Maybe it's time the clubs recommended a different personel to be on the CB?? As I said Cavan football is riddled with politics a typical example was their objection to Johnstone transfer . They don't want him bit they also don't want to look stupid by someone else having him especially with his ability to perform. But they can conveniently forget the Rory Gallagher case when it suits them

richiej represents everything that is wrong with Cavan football in my opinion. Not once have I seen a comment from him that had any element of positivity in it, nor have I ever seen him show an ounce of support towards the Cavan team.

People like richiej can only have a negative effect on a football team, claiming to know it all about Cavan football but yet not witnessing one gym, training or fitness session, and only a couple of competitive games here or there. He is akin to your typical barstooler who moans and groans about his club team in the pub, having never witnessed a ball being kicked all year apart from seeing it blurry eyed through a tv screen.

He knows nothing about the way Andrews did or Hyland does their business behind the scenes. Absolutely zilch. All he knows is that he has a keyboard and has a chip on his shoulder after getting his name in the paper a few months back and loves the limelight. Quite frankly richiej, I find some of your posts disgusting, you have absolutely no regard for the amount of work these players, managers or background team put in, all you are doing is pushing your own agenda to get your own little kicks on this forum. It is quite sad indeed.

I know one of the lads that was dropped from the panel last week personally and while he is desperately disappointed at being dropped, he understands the reasons for Hyland's decision to drop him to make way for the u21's. He wishes them all of the best and promised that he would give his all to be back playing in the blue jersey next year, because he loves football and he loves Cavan.

That is exactly the attitude that is needed for this county to succeed.
