No i don't to be honest. Gonna be some big clubs heading for the intermediate ranks by the looks of the division 1 table so far.
Squeaky bum time already

Many thanks at face value clearly the initial proposal has been changed a lot.

Does anybody have a link to actual rules?

Well, I think the overall objective was to improve the standard and in so doing improve the fortunes of the county team.

I don't see how that's gonna happen by relegating half the teams in division 1 to a lower level of football.

I think every team apart from those in div 1 can amalgamate for the senior championship. so the standard will improve.

I don't agree with amalgamations at all, every club to there own.

there is only about 3 or 4 big clubs in cavan the rest belong in intermediate!!! and dont start on about the past....... cornafein still are the most successful senior team in cavan so should they be in div 1 because of this.....eh no!!

I think the idea was that there are two many teams happy to sit in midtable year after year winning a few games a year and being content! If they are relegated at least they will compete n fight for promotion

I dont see how Castlerahen and Ballinagh are in there. If i was to pick 3 id say the Gales Kingscourt and Mullahourn simple because they are the 3 most recent winners of the Championship.

Whose your fourth top team? Certainly Mullahoran would not have in there.. Were talking about present, not the past

Well if i had to pick 4 id add Ballinagh to it, in terms of being able to beat the Gales when it comes to championship id say Kingscourt Mullahourn and Ballinagh are the only sides with a realistic chance. Mullahourn have been poor in the yeague so far but i expect them to step it up come championship time.

Was reding the Gaelic Life last week and just by chance noticed the table for the Armagh leagues, mainly because I was looking up the Crossmaglen results to see how they are ticking over...Anyway I noticed that they have 16 division one teams, 16 division two teams and a further 10 or 11 in division 3. I know the league format in Monaghan and Tyrone is something similiar to that...So I wonder why we think it is so necessary to decrease the number of senior clubs in the county when the stronger counties all seem to have big numbers in their top divisions... Are we right in what we're doing or are we kicking ourselves in the ass again??

Are there any games this weekend?

No fixtures in celt or on hoganstand. Clubs can refuse to play if they are not given enough notice, 4 day rule i believe. So a free weekend. Might be some reserve fixtures i think

there is no games this weekend because off the 13 day rule about senior inter-county players, thay can't play club football 13 days before their first USFC game.
