Division One League 2012

Fair play to Lavey.I had them tipped to go down this year.Did they not loose a lot of players to emigration, how are they managing to keep it going. This is a very important year in the league,Killygarry,Redhills,Ballyhaise,Drumgoon,Drumalee, look like they have a fight on their hands along with 2 others to avoid the drop to div 2.Leads to a very interesting league.

After getting hockeyed by a Ramor team that have only won 1 in 3 it looks like Redhills are in deep trouble and have a mountain to climb. It seems unlikely that Kingscourt experience won't see them stay up in the end. I can't see Drumgoon surviving and Ballyhaise are unlikely to stay up..but it's early days yet !!

If u can remember Redhills were hammered by ballinagh in the first game of the league last year and then went on a 10 game or so unbeaten run which lead them to finish top of the table. Definitely too early to be making calls on who will do what

Lavey lost Damien Smith, Kevin Brady and Mark Brady to emigration since last year. Like most clubs, they also have alot of long term absentees due to emigration like Declan Murphy, James Carolan, Michael Maguire, David Walsh and a few others. They've alot of good young players coming through and generally add a couple of new players from the minor team to their senior team each year.

Does anyone know what the story is with league games this week, are they going ahead on Wednesday night or what? Disaster if so, lads working in Dublin and wherever won't get down in time!

yes and I think Kingscourt have only played 1 game so far and that was against the Gaels... so a bit too soon to be talking about avoiding reegation.

Another good win for Lavey, looks like they could be a force this season, good win for the cucu's as well, the Gales always seem to have trouble when they come up against them.

I think Lavey have lost a few more than mentioned above, Sean Maguire and Trucker....their midfield from 2 years ago when they won the intermediate and a few other lads that would that have been in and out of the team, but i suppose every team has lost players due to emigration, just a matter of getting on with what you've got. Its a long year yet so we'll see how it goes for all the teams, things can change very easily.
