Castlerahan Kingscourt game was a great game to watch considering the time of year. In the end, either team could have won it and a lucky goal which fell to Oisin O Connell proved the decisive moment. A repeat of the championship semi final, Castlerahan seemed to have learned "a bit" from the last outing. They did not play as defensive which allowed their half forward line to attack back up the field when play broke down in their defensive half. Cian Mackey had a great game at wing forward, defended well, picked up a few breaking ball and chipped in with two great points. Kingscourt didnt look as sharp moving forward and they kicked a lot of aimless ball into their full forward line, which came out just as quick. That being said Catlerahan, like earlier on in the championship were guilty of the same procedure, worked the ball well up the field and then kicked high ball into their full forward line, which didnt work effectively.

The main difference was in midfield. Castlerahan had two big men in the middle of the pitch who broke a lot of ball. Number 8 was lucky to stay on the field as he was touch and go to receive two yellow cards.. Cynical fouling, nothing malicious. That being said Sean Brady came into the game in the second half and caught some vital ball near the end. Truth be told two lucky goals was the difference between the teams, both mishit shots fell to the right people in the right area. That being said Kingscourt did not look as fluent as the games they played in the championship and both teams were guilty of some wayward shooting.

Castlerahan were missing one or two players, Ronan Flanagan being one of them. Alan Clarke played well for Kingscourt, as too did Colm Smith who worked hard for the 60 minutes. Their full back line were decent under the high ball bar the opportunistic goal in the first few minutes. Corner back for Castlerahan was very good, got one vital block and was confident under high ball.. Two wng backs had decent games as too did their number eight (dont remember seeing him from earlier games). Cian Mackey also put in a great performance and looked dangerous when he was moved inside.

There are areas which they need to improve on: kicking aimless ball away being the major one. That being said should make for a decent final.

Sean Paul Graham is well able to play PP Galligan Sean Reilly started as full forward he is only back from his honeymoon and they moved him to midfileld just before he had to go off with his facial injury. Joe O Connor is the under 21 manager and would know all the players well. There was eleven of his under 21 team togged out yesterday so it would have been wise to utilise him rather than bring back forde. Joes under 21 team has been shown good discipline something that the seniors were found lacking again yesterday.

It's your opinion which you are entitled to and mine is my opinion it's that simple. If you think for one minuet that if the bulk of the U21 players are ready for senior football you are in fantasy world.
With respect to Anthony Forde it was not long ago that this team could not say enough about him so would they not work for him yesterday if not why not.

Might make it easier to take a quote out of the comment rather than a whole paragraph! None of my business Sean I don't own the place, just think it makes for better reading

.. take a quote out of the comment rather than a whole paragraph! Sean

then you'll have people taking quotes out of context to suit themselves, leading to confusion and general muck throwing. Identifying a particular post allows people to stay on topic (irony) and negates the need for scrolling back for confirmation. Sean I'd recommend creating a defining line between your own post and the post you are answering.

what I normally do is copy the original post and BOLD it so there is a clear distinction, although I can see where confusion might arise if you are copying the whole thread .. either way I think it is better to copy in what you are replying to otherwise if there are lots of posts within a small time-frame people don't know to whom or to what you are replying.

i usually use dot's instead of a defining line but i can see the positives of the defining line. BOLD AND CAPS MIGHT ALSO HELP or maybe undelining

but that depends on which forum you're on and which username you've signed in under, then your style needs to be adjusted, RIGHT?

Lads forget about defining lines and what not. If your replying to another username simply cite as follows for example;

@ConCavan ---- This way everyone can see who your directly replying to. Same goes if responding to two or more usernames.

yes but then people may not know what you are replying to if the comment by @concavan was on a previous page . . Hey. let's just play it by ear... or maybe ask tom smith for his opinion.. that would be interesting.

Jesus it isn't that hard to follow what is being said, if somebdoy has left a comment just reply under that comment without copying and pasting the whole thing. If the comment was from a few days ago copy and paste that part of the comment that you wanted to discuss or paste it all.

Are you replying to 'jesus' or to someone else? see, it can be confusing, prob best to go with some of the suggestions above?

@SGoldrick----By making a response to whatever the username said above, simply use the @ symbol, and refer directly to whatever the specific username was talking about. This way there is less confusion, and everyone knows what is being said. If it makes it easier put in inverted commas ('') what the username was talking about, followed by your own stance on the topic.

Can we talk about the league final and not all this gibber jabber.I think that Castlerahan have a real chance here.Mullahoran are hard to beat with their defensive system ,but keep the scores against down. Castlerahan have changed their tactics and now get more men forward .They have pace in the forward line and if they move it quickly I think they will win by 2.Come on the Rahan

Don't think Denn Man would agree with you there Larry. They're in the holy trinity. Teams like Castlerahan, Ramor, Ballinagh and Lavey etc. He places on the same level as Denn.

I hope it's as good a game as the Kingscourt one at least. Would make Mullahoran favourites just about.

Just had a look at their years results against the Big 3 on cavangaa.ie
V Gaels. Played 1, drew 1
V Kingscourt. Played 3, Won 1, Drew 1, Lost 1
V Mullahoran. Played 1, lost 1

Lavey's were
V Gaels. played 2, lost 2
v Mullahoran. played 1, won 1
V Kingscourt. played 2, won 1, lost 1

Not too bad for second tier teams.
