Mullahoran won by 2 PTs should have been a lot more Gaels very poor disciplne let them down again. Two Reilly brothers sent off. mullahoran had two sent of later on and Eddie Reilly should have joined them. Interesting to see Forde calling the shots on Gaels line. This winter will be important for the Gaels future. They need someone strong to stamp out the problems. Joe O Connor would be an ideal person for the job

Seems that the Gael's themselves know they're in trouble. Any Gael's teams from the last 10 years would have relished today's oppurtunity i.e. taking the county champions scalp and setting the tone for next year. Instead they were more interested in getting in Mullahorans faces and jig acting than focusing on the win. Thats a sign of weakness right there and I have on good account that they were well up for this match. Some of the older players should have known better and some of the younger ones need a good toe up the rear. They need a strong hand over them next year or the ill discipline and egotistical nonsense will bring them down.

my last post was moderated, and maybe rightly, but I feel that some of the Gaels supporters would be better moving further back from the sidelines instead of riling their own players up and abusing the ref. Lots of big lads with lots of opinions are not helping matters in the club.

1296257 WHO IS THE CAVAN GAELS MANAGER TO DAY ?

It looked like Anthony Forde was the main man on the line for the Gaels with Mark Gillick beside him.

If they continue to think that their young lads are the way forward they are in big trouble. I expect that if they bring in another local man it will be as you were. Too many good players sitting on the bench to entertain their youth and it's not the way to go. I am and always will be a firm advocate of experience with youth but not 70% youth it's not the way to go at any level. Doc Collins and Elliott are a huge loss and it might be worth stating they the gales lost by a very stupid error from a goalkeeper.

Looking at the match yesterday and also against killygarry I noticed as did many others I spoke to yesterday the Gaels are nothing playing like a team. the older players are not bringing the younger players into the game. The younger player will only be passed too when there is no other option. Yesterday I saw many times when the younger player was in the better position he wasnt passed to.The Gaels have won eleven of the last thirteen minor title so they must have some decent young players. The club quickly need to appoint a strong manger and back him with the tough decisions that lie ahead unlike the past.
The two Reilly brothers sent of yesterday were Dominic (two Yellow) and Eamonn straight red.

To tell you the truth I thought one of them had been substituted the other was two yellows. The ref was dishing out cards for some crazy things. I thought he handled the situation with Sean very bad calling him back with blood poring from his face I hope he is okay today it looked nasty for sure.
Getting back to passing the ball well Conor McCleary was doing his bit and gave many good passes to the young ones who could do nothing with the ball and then see him being substituted by a minor flipping hell who is calling the shots in that club they look so disorganised as a unit either side of the line. I would have brought on Cormac Nelligan he has been a good servant to them and to ignore him in the Killygarry and this match there has to be something wrong.
I would hope that Anthony Forde had no input into selecting and substituting players yesterday. Putting a child in midfield was a disaster who ever thought of that ??? it looked to me that Mark Gillic as calling the shots not Anthony

Chesty was given a straight red and dominic got a yellow for questioning the ref and a second one two minutes later. McCleary was at the races yesterday at one stage in the second half he turned three times and would not pass until Dominic Reilly came free. Nelligan hasnt been training and is only back from holiday.Paul Graham is the person who you are unfairly calling a child he was the county minor Ulster winning captain two years ago and has been playing well at under 21 for the club and also had a great game against Mullahoran in the league in September. The club should have used there under 21 management team for this game and not brought forde back for it. The club looks to be in chaos off and on the field.

I don't care what level he has played at you were playing two very strong people in midfield with Mullahoran they even moved Sean Reilly away from there WHY.
Bringing in the U21 management would have to be a mistake as they have only just taken over. If it is their intention of giving them the senior job well yes that would have been wise but are they I wonder.
Mark Gillic has been with the seniors a while now. Getting to the O'Reillys well I accept your answer I saw the double yellow one but missed Eamonn's issue.

I don't believe that Cormack Nelligan had not twenty minuets in him but hey you are the gales it's your call at the end of the day. I pity the few die hard supporters however who have to put up with the way things are this moment in time.

Sean Paul Graham is well able to play PP Galligan Sean Reilly started as full forward he is only back from his honeymoon and they moved him to midfileld just before he had to go off with his facial injury. Joe O Connor is the under 21 manager and would know all the players well. There was eleven of his under 21 team togged out yesterday so it would have been wise to utilise him rather than bring back forde. Joes under 21 team has been shown good discipline something that the seniors were found lacking again yesterday.
