Is that score in the recent Kingscourt game correct? 2-17 to 0-01 in a Division 1 game seems bizarre? Bananas (Cavan) - Posts: 73 - 06/09/2012 15:40:15 1260853 Link 0 |
Yes thats right, very impressive indeed hard to fathom that none of the players are deemed good enough for cavan seniors. Now the gaels are out, anyone who thinks these guys wont win the championship is deluded. They have the right mix of youth and experience and are hitting form at the right time, its only a matter of turning up for the semi and the final.Could be the first cavan senior club team to reach an ulster final since their neighbours up there 17 years ago. They will be playing the champs from tyrone, derry, prob then Crossmaglen in the semi ,tough as it is sounds they defo worth a few quid. P.Mus Are you seriously comparing this kingscourt team to crossmaglen?? I saw them a few weeks ago in breffni against cavan gaels and a rather weak gaels team disposed off them with little effort. I know the game was of little significance but i didnt see to many players who i could see crossmaglen problems. sammaguire1 (Cavan) - Posts: 279 - 06/09/2012 16:51:33 1260942 Link 0 |
Ah no there no crossmaglen but they will put it up to the rest of them and on the day why not? I saw some of that gaels match, i think they were missing half of the team, lads injured and suspended plus it was a dead rubber, they prob thought they would meet them in the final and didnt want to show their true hand. There serious for getting goals , i think they 7 or 8 against lavey earlier on in the championship. That was hardly their first team that played against ballyhaise either been so close to the semi and that, prob thier juniors and minors, serious strenght and depth. @P.Mus - your obviously pro-Kingscourt man.. I was at the game with the Gaels, and they were missing about 3 good players, who would normally be in their first XV... Fair enough the game was a dead-rubber, but I cant say them getting past Castlerahan, didnt exactly set the world alight against Drumgoon either... lifebuoy (Cavan) - Posts: 628 - 06/09/2012 17:41:42 1261024 Link 0 |
They put 5 goals past Lavey P.mus. A good amount but not 7 or 8. I agree with you though that they will beat Castlerahan and win the Championship. They won't get near an Ulster final though. As much as it pains me to say it, Cavan football is brutal. BreffniGuide (Cavan) - Posts: 474 - 07/09/2012 10:22:16 1261340 Link 0 |

Thought Kingscourt would have put out a dummy side, with next week in mind, still great way to be 28 scores is unreal. lifebuoy (Cavan) - Posts: 628 - 08/09/2012 20:06:25 1262228 Link 0 |

The Gaels must be on the way down. They had a tough time against a depleted Lavey team. BreffniGuide (Cavan) - Posts: 474 - 09/09/2012 15:08:53 1262486 Link 0 |
Was at the Kingscourt V Drumalee game yesterday and I wasnt overimpressed with kingscourt, more amazed at how woeful Drumalee were. I know they were never going to win the game but at the end of the day they were the home team and the game was over after 5-10 minutes. With regards Kingscourt, they were very, very clinical. almost every time they attacked they scored. I do feel their defence is slightly suspect but their forwards and in particular the full forward were class. Simply a case of the end of a season for one team and maybe just the beginning for the other. Based on yesterdays performance I can see nobody else but kingscourt winning the championship. visionary (Cavan) - Posts: 18 - 09/09/2012 15:44:06 1262500 Link 0 |
Castlerahan were awful against Mullahoran, cant see them beating Kingscourt.Ramor had a good win against Belturbet, and are now favourites to stay up.Looks like Killygarry s only chance of staying senior is to win the senior Championship.Drumgoon gave themselves a fighting chance but need a big win against Gowna to stay up.The refs issue raised its ugly head again in the Gaels match with the referee awarding a penalty to the gaels which should have been a 30 yard free. There needs to be something done at county board level about these refs kinglarry (Cavan) - Posts: 189 - 09/09/2012 17:58:55 1262653 Link 0 |
