Division One League 2012

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

that table has a few mistakes in it Handpass.
Lacken are 2nd now on 18 points & Ballinagh only have 2 games left.
I think Ballinagh will stay up, their last two games are against redhills & ballyhaise who they should beat.
The winner in the Gowna v Killygary league match will determine each clubs faith & the same in the belturbet v ramor game.
Interesting to see what unfolds

would need to see each team's remaining fixtures.. especially those around mid-table. does anyone have a list of fixtures to hand.. in a fairly simple format

its likely that gaels will win senior and lacken will win intermediate so that means that top 9 get through, am i right?

yes if gaels win senior and lacken win inter then you are correct. if the table were to end today then belturbet would be in a play-off with the top team in div 2 to decide the 10th team to comprise the 2013 div 1

i'd say the top 8 teams as they are at the moment in the table will all stay up.
Be surprised if lacken don't win the intermediate.
And your senior winner will come from Gaels/Kingscourt/Castlerahan/Mullahoran/Ballinagh who will all finish in the top 8 in the league.

The below fixtures will determine who finishes in 9th & 10th position. 10th position then would have a play off game v the top team in division 2.

Dumgoon v Redhills
Gowna v Killygary
Belturbet v Ramor
Ramor v Ballyhaise
Mullahoran v Belturbet
Killygary v Drumalee
Drumgoon v Gowna

Think redhills + drumalee + ballyhaise + gowna + belturbet & killygary will all go down

no. not according to the info i received. they go into a playoff (unless of course they win the senior or inter championship)

Thats very impressive from Kingscourt. Now the gaels are out they will win the championship at a canter. All them great young lads they have and they still have a few of old guard around doing the business. I see they will be playing the Tyrone champs at home on the 21st Oct in the preliminary round.

Are you mad? Kingscourt will win at a canter? I would say they are the best team left but any one of the 4 teams could win it there's not much between any of them, it certainly isn't easy to call

Trying to build them up for a fall P.Mus ??
Nothing in sport is guaranteed. Ask Dublin / Cavan Gaels.
There is very little between any of them 4 teams remaining & it's all on the day

Now ochonlir, i was merely illustrating that last weekend both those teams were heavily fancied by their supporters & bookies i may add, to win their respective match.
Gaa matches are not won by supporters opnions or by book maker odds. Not that easy or straight forward i'm afraid !

I know but it would have been remiss of me not to have commented given that opportunity.

how and ever cavan gaels are a good club and have produced many wins, what is disappointing is the hatred of them rather than the rivalry of them. What I mean is, OK dislike them as rivals, and then work hard to get up to their standard rather than hating them for having a high standard and being successful.

They are gaa folk like the rest of us and I like other Gaa folk even the (muppets) that constantly whinge on here!
