Best of luck to Seanie. I hope he kicks them over from all angles.

Its a sad day for Cavan football that a situation like this was allowed to develope and get to this stage.

No you got this wrong Cavan Gaels gave him away its that simple not Cavan County Board or Management its you Cavan Gales sheva7 no one else did you not want him story has it you people were fed up to your eyeballs with him you even took the captaincy from him true.

Seannie would have got back onto the county panel and every dog on the ditch knew that including seannie.
However the deed is done he has gone and we must just wish him the best of luck.
I think we have a ready made forward to replace him in young dunne so we will be fine. There is plenty up and coming talent coming trough at the moment just a matter of getting them to jell together.

He's gone now so I think we can drop this topic.

The management do not have to answer to anybody over their selection decisions, especially not anonomous forum posters. They're charged with doing a job, now I think its time for us to move on and let them get to it.

To Seanie, I wish you the very best with your new club and county.

Well said. Martin Dunne will be a better player for club and county for the move. More of a goalscorer as well.
That said, best of luck with Kildare jelly.

surely he will be a massive loss to the gaels, how do you think they will cope without him? even though there was obvious reasons for val dropping him he was still cavans best forward and i wish him all the best in kildare

Seanie Johnston - Kildare Footballer (Club: St Kevins)

If you are a Cavan football person at all you cannot help but be saddened about this. Not only is he a loss to the county team but to club football in Cavan. We have an admittedly low standard of football in the county and it is players of Johnstons ability that have the potential to light up some seriously dull days, whilst bringing the best out in opposition. A sad day for his club mates I'm sure.

I don't see this as a sad day. He clearly wants to move on and that's what we should do too. Opportunity now knocks for some young committed up-and-coming Cavan lad. Good luck to Seannie in Kildare and good luck to Kildare in managing him.

i can just about understand transfering to another county, but transferring club??? now that is showing zero respect to cavan gaels! he surely owes everything to the cavan gaels club that has got him to where he is today!

saddened by it? why would we be saddened by someone who doesn't care bout his club or county leaving?

CAVAN GAELS HAVE JUST CONFIRMED ON THEIR OFFICIAL TWITTER SITE THAT THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY TRANSFER REQUESTS FROM ANY PLAYER WITHIN THE CLUB, OR HAVE THEY SIGNED ANY TRANSFER FORMS.

This is turning into a right old mess with all sides using the media in various forms to get their point across. It will end in tears.
