What kind of message does is send out if Val comes out and comments on it? He can't do it for Johnston and not explain why Lyng, Mackey etc have also been dropped. Andrews does not have to explain his management decisions to the public.
And if he did come out and say for example, that it was attitude problems from Johnston, it would not stop the pro Johnston lads moaning. They'd go on to point out faults with other players on the panel and refuse to believe that Johnston did anything wrong. Andrews is coming out of this looking better because he has had the grace to keep his mouth shut and his head down.

Take your time and read this paragraph and maybe this might be the same way Val Andrews is thinking also
He can come here, turn up, play,TRAIN and I've never stopped anybody who's wanted to play for Kildare. He has indicated that he wants to and we'll take him in with open arms BUT he's going to have his WORK CUT OUT. There are a lot of fellas there who want their place too and if Seanie steps in here he's going TO HAVE TO PUT UP LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE."
I think thats is fair and its the same here in Cavan work for your place and Val Andrews has stated no door is locked so read the paragraph and dissect it.

and who puts the officers in the co board in place?. THE CLUBS
and what are the clubs made up of? SUPPORTERS.
SO ONE WAY OR ANOTHER PEOPLE DESERVE TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED OTHERWISE EXPLAINING WHEN A RE ELECTION IS DUE MIGHT BE TOO LATE

That's dodging the issue again. No answer there. I support my county and my county players so when they are dropped and not happy I am entitled to know what happened. If they were deemed "not good enough" by the manager then that is fine. But Seanie, Lyng etc gave years of service to the county team and a 10 second phone call is just not good enough in my humble opinion. As a supporter I feel I deserve answers. AND it is not just Seanie either. He is the one in the news but the likes of Clarke got the same treatment from the manager and we were told nothing.

Why don't you ask seannie or any of the others why only a ten second phone call. I spoke with one of these guys and I can tell you his conversation was longer than ten seconds.
I suppose if things go wrong in the national league you people will be well able to gloat.
Its all down to commitment and attitude here let me tell you and its time to move on.
Val Andrews I will state this again and again has not closed the door to anyone its up to them to prove they can and should be on the panel is that a lot to ask for. Give the man some credit for the way he has gone about his business and long may it continue. Roll on the good day's. Is mise Sean O'Rinn

Where has Val Andrews stated that the door is not closed on anyone???? Commitment and attitude and honesty are fine but skill is needed 2. If it goes pearshaped Andrews is going to get slated because of the forwards he left sitting in the house. If he pulls it off well he a hero. If he talks the talk he has to walk the walk

It was easier to drop last years experienced players than to explain the failings of last year. Hence the " we going with something new this year" take

Didn't want to weight in on this one, but just for clarification. Val was quoted in the Anglo as stating that the door was always open to those who the management felt fit the criteria... (or words to that effect), it was a conditional open door policy. Seanorinn will see this an an open door to all, others will not.

Truth be told, a manager has to be judged by his results, he has therefore to make the decisions he feels will best help his team to win. Cavan Football has been the whipping boys for near on 10 years, and change was needed, Val Andrews has taken on the mantle to make the changes the he feels will best help Cavan footbal to advance. If his decisions will have the desired result, is still open for debate. This time last year we were looking at McKenna Cup semi-final against Tyrone, this year similiar results were not sufficient to get us a best 2nd place position. League is all important at this stage, and while I disagree with the manner in which it has been reported that certain players where told they were "surplus to requirements" I will point out to balance, that statistics show that Cavan score more on average when Sean Johnston didn't play then when he did.

Where Sean O Rinn . Where in back and White dies it state since last october that the door is not closed on anyone. Monaghan manager down manager, Galway manager, Mayo manager have all stated that in the last few months. But our manager hasn't. What started out as a supposedly slap in the rist to Seanie has escalated in to where we are today. Agree??

Yea im all for judging managers on their results especially in their 2nd when they supposedly have fount their feet
And secondly your statistic about "Cavan scoring more on average when Johnston is not playing" is very difficult to back up especially as Johnston played in 7 national league games and 2 championship games last year. kicking 0-7, 0-9 1-3 on 3 ocassions a feat i dont think any other forward managed, And Seanie was suppose to be having a bad year!! So what was the other forwards excuse??

It escalated in the National Media and TV and Radio because of Cavans failure to put a stop to stories. Andrews has stated in the Celt that he doesnt comment on individual cases which is fair enough. So why cant he give a general comment on all the lads he dropped??
It will all come out some day and if it comes out while Cavan are having a poor run in the league we all know what will happen then.
I genuinely wish Seanie the best of luck in whatever he decides to do.Luckily for him he has the ability to decide where he wants to play his inter county football. He owes Cavan County football NOTHING . More often than not he was ploughing a lone furrow and is only natural he got frustrated. If frustration is classed as an attitude problem and a disruption well i think im watching the wrong sport

I think posters should lay off Seanie over the next few days for reasons that will become clearer over the next day or so.
