1272273 It's disheartening to see the lack of activity on this forum considering the clubs that have reached the senior, intermediate and junior finals. I feel that at some level, it reflects the low level of interest and expectation in the county at this time.

Not sure many want to know about this saga really except you gaels people.

I have predicted he will wear the blue and white next year for Mr Hyland and I expect I am right. I expect as things go he is needed.

It will be a disgrace if he ever plays for Cavan again and I'd struggle to bother my arse to watch Cavan if he was on the team.

I see he has not made the starting 15 for Kildare on Sunday, what a waste, back to play with the Gaels for the Championship I'm told, I predict he will be back in the Blue jersey 2014 and not before time!

He wouldn't make the Cavan starting 15. He doesn't work hard enough. I wouldn't drop any of our forwards for him.

Leave him where he is anyway. We don't want him.

His return would disrupt the cohesion in the panel which is top class at the moment. He could have stayed and been part of it, he made his decision best of luck to him but there is no way back as far as I am concerned. Once he ran onto breffni in a Kildare jersey that was it for me.

In January 2012 Val Andrews dropped alot of the 2011 panel. Alan Clarke + Cian Mackey were dropped. They had a good club season in 2012 and were brought back into the panel in January 2013, and along with Keating and Dunne have been Cavan best players this season. Why couldn't Seanie have done this??!

The ironic thing is this Cavan team has the talent over the next few years to overtake the overrated Kildare team he moved to.

Kieran McGeeney fielded six U21 players against Dublin in a Leinster Simi Final how crazy was that. I expect his tenure will be finished after the qualifiers ?? Six years at the helm and a very poor return from it ??

I am not a fan of this man Seanie Johnson but his strength and ability may well have been the difference for Cavan last Sunday and no one on here can say he did not perform for Cavan for most of his senior career.

If he was willing to commit to the current management and perform to his ability only a fool would turn their back on his return.

How long ago did I hear these words when three players went to the USA THEY WILL NEVER PLAY AGAIN FOR THE BLUE AND WHITE well you know the story there.

So what was 'the big news' coming out of the Gaels camp last October?

The predictions that Seanie would play for Mr Hyland thsi year didn't come true - are the odds any better for 2014?

I think Seanie should be welcomed back but only if he justifies his selection by playing very well for the Gaels first and committing to the Cavan Team.

If Johnson comes back and proves his fitness and ability then I see no reason why he would not play for Cavan again.
He was our best forward for years and it was Val Andrew's fault he was dropped and in such a cruel way, by phone, if I recall rightly Seanie and 5 others.

Many posters should have been blaming the manager back then rather than the player.

I'd have him back, but he would start from scratch with the panel and would have to prove himself a team player in the current set-up. As in walks of life it's important to 'never say never' and swallow all pride for the sake of the greater good. Requiring him to prove himself at club level would start things off on the wrong foot and could be interpreted as punitive. He shouldn't have been let go in the first place and admitting this fact is the first step in the reconciliation process. When I see his name on a Kildare team sheet I get a little sad, having watched him represent the Gaels, St Patricks College and Cavan with such distinction at underage. On a human level it must have been a very lonely road for him this last couple of years

Kildare are benefiting from the years of coaching and training invested in Sean Johnston by dedicated people around Cavan. I'd be prepared to swallow a little pride if I thought we could increase our winning chances by even 1%. I think the CB should facilitate moves to get him back in the Cavan jersey.
