Lillymadfan - come back to me when Kildare have won half of what Cavan have and we'll talk. I was on the terrace last week and no one from Cavan clapped him. Quite a few were calling on the Cavan players to hammer the head off him. Milhouse - well said.

OK Fred I think your posts are well written, I honestly believe you talk a lot of sense, but what you said could be misunderstood as calling for somebody to give Seanie a slap, but from what I can see you didn't, you just said that a few people around you called for it.
I agree though wholeheartedly that the Kildare posters should just go on back to their own forum if they ever want this whole saga of Seanie to be put to bed.
Have they not got other things to think about apart from Cavan?
We on the other hand, have to lick our wounds and then set about thinking of a way to get on with life and build a better stronger squad for next year.

I think we are entitled to post where ever a county is posting about our player and thats now seanie johnston.
I apologise fredflint I realise you said that others around you were shouting for him to be 'hammered' you never pointed out that you were for nor against that.
But im sure most cavan supporters agree calling for a lad to be hit violently is not right be it seanie or joebloggs playing for a club game and thats all I want to say on the subject. Breffini park is some pitch/venue I wish we had that in kildare and Good Luck to Cavan in the future.

Seanie has some more championship game time ahead. Drawn against Allenwood, John Doyle's team, in the relegation playoff. Hopefully, he has an additonal game to play before the year is out.

I heard that Seanie's team lost the relegation battle at the weekend and that he missed a penalty at the end.
Playing Junior football next year!

@Dara10 Where did you hear that.. St Kevins were a senior team up to last Sunday, so if they relegated that would make em intermediate for next yr, and not a junior club like you say... Get your facts right.. Kevins came up from intermediate to senior in '08...

They are in a senior relegation semi final. So they are not relegated from senior

SFC quarterfinal places up for grabs
05 September 2012

The battle for the last four places in the Kildare SFC quarterfinals will take place this weekend.

Already through to the last eight are Moorefield, Carbury, Celbridge and Naas, while the remaining four will join after this weekend's games.

Defending champions Athy will be favourites to see off Clane, while Sarsfields should prevail against Leixlip.

In the other two matches, Maynooth and Confey could be too close to call, while St Laurence's are favourites to defeat Ballymore Eustace.

In the relegation semi finals, Allenwood could be up against it when they face St Kevin's, while Round Towers are tipped to see off Suncroft.

@Dara10 whoever informed ye got their facts wrong;

Its on the Kildare homepage the fixtures, I see you even put it on da forum.. As it stands Kevins are still a senior team, their fate will be further known before the end of this month, where either they will be plying their trade in senior again, or be demoted to intermediate, simple as. Kevins play Allenwood in the relegation semi-final on friday (7th) with the other pairing being Round Towers and Suncroft..

Seanie is back in the tech so must love his trips up to Kildare for training. Although he didn't look like he'd been doing much training when he came on in Breffni.

Seanie has still one game to play this year in the Senior Championship, relegation final against either Suncroft or Round Towers. He could yet be a hero if he helps St Kevins retain their status.

For there's no gods and there's precious few heroes
But there's plenty on the dole in the land o the leal
And it's time now to sweep the future clear
Of the lies of a past that we know was never real

Farewell to the heather in the glen
They cleared us off once and they'd do it all again
For they still prefer sheep to thinking men
Ah, but men who think like sheep are even better

According to reports Seanie was in brilliant form at the weekend scoring 5 points to help St Kevins retain their senior status.

St Kevins won by 0 10 to 0 9.

Who cares what a kildare player does in a relegation play off game.

Agree Fred. Why dont we talk about our own players and the players that will be training and playing for Cavan over the next few years. Fair play to Tir Connaill and if they can climb to the summit so can we. And not an import in sight!!!! Congrats and well done.

It's disheartening to see the lack of activity on this forum considering the clubs that have reached the senior, intermediate and junior finals. I feel that at some level, it reflects the low level of interest and expectation in the county at this time. In light of Donegals success, our lack of competitiveness and success seems rawer. I'm sure many of us have wondered over the last two days if we'll ever find ourselves packed onto main street Cavan, welcoming back Sam Maguire. I feel that this current period may be rock bottom and I really really hope I'm right. This has to be more than a pipe dream.
