As I've said before Richj is not a Gaels supporter but a guy who wishes to heap scorn on the club with his witterings

He hit the nuclear button way too soon and now he's gone. Football is only a passtime though and people have choices. You can question his loyalty, but SJ is not a bad person for moving county. I personally am not going to tarnish the guys name as he's already given more to Cavan than most of us put together. I think we should leave it be or we'll just come across as the thick country begrudgers that many think us to be.

Richie, not so long ago you were highly critical that the CB didn't go for a high calibre Manager like "Peter Canavan". Did it escape your notice that Fermanagh fell at the first fence like us? Does this mean you'll be reassessing Canavan's managerial credentials now?

As for Johnson, I hope I never see him again in one of our sacred blue jerseys. I can handle his departure, but his return after this farce goes bellyup, would be too much altogether.

It is my belief that the cause of all the trouble lies on the shoulders of the County Board !!

1. They allowed the manager to more or less drop 5/6 players and didn't ask any questions regarding the morale of those players and why their form dipped. It is also my belief that the form of those senior players dipped because they recognised the limitations of the manager and his training regime and knew that the team was going nowhere under him !!
2. I think the County Board allowed the situation to fester by their inaction. They should have organised a "clear the air" weekend in private session with an independent facilitator or mediator where everyone could express their opinions and gripes and perhaps sort the problems out !!
3. The County Board should have preempted the players meeting that did take place in Virginia by taking option 2 above at an early stage !! If that had happened perhaps Seanie Johnston and other valuable players would still be in contention for their places with Cavan and we might have given Donegal a better game as a united panel !! We have some very promising players who were crying out for the experience those players possessed in a Championship match !!

Could a similar situation happen again in the future with a C.B. which sits back and allows things to get out of control ?

Rubbish. The managers job is to manage and pick his team, not the county board. Only 1 guy is to blame and he is no longer a cavan man thank god.

hes let his club down.the club that coached him all his life and the club of his childhood.they might not be the most liked club but what have they done wrong to deserve him just walking out.what do his former team mates think of this.imo no loyalty, no respect.

Fred,
You are a great one for putting down people's opinions but post very little or vague posts yourself !!
If the senior players who were dropped suffered because they saw that the team was going nowhere and may have voiced that opinion then the manager also has to be questioned. You made no mention of the players meeting that eventually removed the manager so were these players wrong too and the manager right all along ?

Ondforty....There was a time long ago when the blue jersey was sacred. But it seems any auld tom dick or harry can represent the county lately if they can run.

Speculation is mounting that Seanie Johnston will make an appearance for the Coill Dubh hurlers on Saturday in a bid to be eligible to line out for Kildare against Meath the following day.

From Hoganstand Cilldara site - did SJ ever play hurling in Cavan? Anywhere?
Did he even hold a hurl?
