Lovelylillies, couldn't care less what sj wants. I just don't want him to ever get one of our sacred blue jerseys again.

Fredflint it's pretty pathetic that the best forward in the county is sitting in the house in Kildare. This management made no effort to undo what the previous manager did. Instead we are left with a bunch of substandard forwards pretending to be county forwards who between them won't muster 7 points from play on Sunday. The bottom line is if you want to replace someone, replace them with someone better or at least as good. Not substandard forwards who wouldn't get on a half decent club team. As you will all see on Sunday.

thats the best we have richiej.. Instead of being critical name other forwards who should be on the team.. theres more to cavan than seanie johnston

That's the single biggest load of crap I've ever seen spouted on this forum. Do us all a favour and stop posting. As you saw on another thread, people are getting sick of your constant negativity. Yes, we all realise we've a pretty crap team but at least support them. You're in London so I doubt you see many county or club games anyway. How about you go and be negative about Spurs or Arsenal or Chelsea instead of annoying us with your crap?

Well said holluc, anyone that would want to see their own county bet shouldnt ever post again.

Amen to that holluc. Richiej is like a broken record, and like that record, most of the stuff he spews on here is nothing but outdated jibberish of very poor quality.

Seanie Johnston has burned all bridges around him. In my opinion his bad attitude has not only got him dropped from the panel this year but it has left him in limbo also with throwing his toys out of the pram looking for a transfer. Cavan are better off with out such negativity in the dressing room, imagine how that would affect the youngsters we have coming through... We need players that can help us build for the long term, not somebody who decides to show up whenever he wants and kick a few scores.

Sad, but Cavan football will go on, long after Seanie retires and looks back with regret for what he didn't achieve with his own county.

Goes down the DRA route. Seems he even had to produce pay slips and stuff that doesn't even concern the CCCC. Wonder did Rory gallagher have as much to produce!! Still he will never play for Cavan again if he has any sense! Just wish the rest of the Gaels lads wouldnt play either. Still Murray seems to have got sense! Concentrate on the club!

that in my book is where you went too far richie.
Sorry, any small amount of respect i had for you went out the window there.

Agree with everybody else , this is just too far. You seem to be a mouthpiece for the bould Seanie. Why dont you let Seanie fight his own battles. The other Gaels lads playing today are proud Caven men like myself even though I have been away from home for a long many years.
Stop this constant dribble and go out and support the lads.
Any lad who pulls on a blue jersey I will always support them to the hilt.
So lads come on and do us proud and we will be right behind ye.
Good luck to Terry, Anthony and all the lads.

I'll answer 2 of your questions Richie,
1- you said you wished cavan Gaels players would refuse to play for cavan, this would weaken the team so I can only conclude you wish cavan to lose.
2 - you have said on a number if occasions on this forum that you were in London. Once when you boasted how you never missed a championship game in so many years.
3 - no idea how many games you were at but since you are in the UK, don't want cavan to win and clearly hated Andrews and hyland then again its reasonable to assume you haven't seen too many.

I hope the Cavan players who wear the blue jersey today wear it with pride and do their very best. Personally I would have signed seanies papers first time and this whole drawn out saga would have been avoided. If you don't want to play with a team you are no use to that team.by denying him the transfer it played right into his hands and got him the media attention. Lessons to be learned all round.

Posters here seem to forget that Seanie didn't walk away he was dropped. He wasn't replaced by anybody that was better than him. He has nothing to prove to Hyland or anybody else in Cavan but there are plenty playing today with plenty to prove and they been getting plenty of chances to prove they good enough. And they simply not good enough. Yes I would Perfer if all the Gaels lads didn't bother playing county football and concentrated on their club. But that's only my opinion. I'd pick club success anyday over county success. And so would many others. Especially posters who's clubs have won nothing . And there are plenty of those kinda posters here. Good luck to all concerned today. Buts its another day of misery on the cards. Still we can start teambuilding again tomorrow... Like we always talk about it but never actually do it. We just cast players to the scrapheap after a few poor games. 12 months on from last year, we have still no fullback . We didn't even try and find one despite leaking goals up the middle against average div3 teams. Watch today, watch the first qualifier and you will see how really bad we really are

Such rubbish you write Richie. First off, players can play for their clubs and their county - you don't need to choose one or the other. 2nd, being involved at county level will improve your club. You play and train at a higher level which will improve the player. The player returns to his club a better player and he in turn raises the standard there. Your logic is totally flawed and its clear to anyone with two eyes in their head that you hope Cavan lose so you can come on here this evening and say "I told you so" and "If only Hyland had not of dropped Seanie" etc etc. You are no Cavan man and no Cavan supporter in my eyes.

I want to wish the seniors and minors the best of luck today. Win lose or draw we true fans will continue to support you. Ignore the Richies of this world because all they bring is negativity and negativity creates nor wins anything.

I'm off to Breffni now to watch our minors.

Are you going Richie????

So you admit that you would prefer the gaels not to get mixed up with the county set up, so therefore Val and Terry and the co. board did you and Seanie a favour by dropping him and therefore freeing him of county football.
Get some common sense please, stop looking at things through Seanie's prism.
He got dropped last year, because of lack of commitment and determination (something which he hasn't lost since trying to transfer to Kildare), not talent, but not only by the county panel, but by the Gaels too.
I seem to remember Seanie only coming on as a sub in a few of the c'ship games for the gaels last year because from what I heard he wasn't putting in the effort

I wonder how many points would seanie have got there today. probably as many as last year. As I have said on many occasions its not about individual talent its about team play and taken the right option when in possesion. these are things which a good coach will instil in a player and which a player will learn with experience. i hope we get an easy qualifier draw so we can build a bit of momentum.

1. You said the Gaels lads should stick to club football. These lads want a challenge in their footballing careers and they won't get it walking through the Cavan championship each year. That said, they never do much in Ulster. Saying you don't want them to play though is wishing that Cavan are missing good players so the same as hoping they lose.

2. Your location is UK and you have mentioned London.

3. Very few if you're in the UK and from some of your downright ludicrous views of the games its clear you don't see much.

Now, I've answered all three, stop posting and do us all a favour. Enough of your negativity for a few years.

Now at least the whole country can see if Seanie WAS good enough to play for Cavan. They saw last Sunday what we have. Now they will see what we didn't want.. Interesting!! Best of luck to Seanie!
