so who told you then that the transfer went through this afternoon gael stud? as i said source? because from what i hear cavan gaels and cavan county board are only been asked up this evening and no decision is expected to be made and one probably wont be made by next week which will ensure that sj can not line out for st kevins for the 19th and inturn will not be able to line out for the lillywhites as there is only one round of club championship played in kildare
and no other rounds are scheduled until kildare are knocked out of the championship.

class player..., temperamental, moody, self focused, selective as to the amount of effort he is will to commit etc. But granted when on form, and when fully committed, has the potential to be a great, the issue most have is that he switched off for Cavan over the last few years, yet if granted his transfer he will be focused, dedicated, driven and combativeness for Kildare in a way that he wasn't for Cavan. Our Issue isn't a lack of loyality, it is far worse then that...In my opinion our issue is that he just went through the motions with cavan in the past number of years, and jumped at the first available excuse to find pastures new.

Switched off last year but still managed 1-25..What about the other Cavan forwards that are still there? Are they switched off? or switched on??
Or more importantly do they kno the difference!

the last year under T Carr, when Sean was injured cavan scored on average 1-4 more per game then when he played. Sean's potential ability has never been questioned, in my opinion it is his application that is the issue. yes he scored 1- 25, but switched on, playing with passion, that could have been doubled. In my opinion he plays when he wants, he puts the effort in when he wants, he does what he wants, when he played, he played with an attitude of what can these players do for me, and not with the attitude of what can I do for my team.
the infamous 10 second phone call was not because Val Andrews only gave him 10 seconds of time, but rather I surmise that Sean didn't want to hear any more and hung the phone up in a "mature" manner.
Ring...ring...Ring...ring
Sean...Hello
Val... Hello Seany, Whats the story Bud?
Sean...not too much!
Val... Sean, let me get stright to the point. We are looking at bring the team in a differant direction and feel at this stage that yourself a nd a couple of other players are not what we need....
sean... right...(Click)
Richie, I know that you are Seany's biggest fan, but he has either been badly advised, or else he has gone and made a pigs ear out of the simple situation of not being happy with the senior set_up.

Just like to point out that Martin Dunne a newcomer to the county senior scene scored 2-21 in this years league (0-10 from frees) and he didn't start all games. Also this was with a very young and inexperienced panel of players.

If your suggesting that martin dunne is going to replace Johnston then you are mistaken.

No doubt cavangaafan he can be like this at times have seen him play a bit and can turn it on if he wants and some times just couldn't be bothered. But don't think that will work under the geezer, is the type of man that demands 150% at all times and puts up with nothing less. Think if he wants to ever become a regular on the kildare team that self centred moody temperament will quickly be gotten rid of. Has happened players on the panel before him and don't think he will be any different.

No not suggesting that at all, some people keep banging on about SJ scoring 1-25 last year as if he couldn't be done without.I'm just showing that we have players that can score as much against similar opposition, thats all.Anyway has Dunne not already replaced SJ on the county team?

Yes he has took his place but in terms of replacing him i dont think he is good enough yet, and i doubt he ever will be.

I could name 2 forwards that were on the panel last year that were worse than Seanie and they are still on the panel. So I supose that's fair?

Im on Richiej's side here, in terms of Johnson is a good player and should be playing for us

Cavangaafan(multiposter) has been dissing Seanie long before the Kildare saga and has some sort of weird agend

why should he be with us he walked away plain and simple loyalty despite what others say you fight your way back it was that simple. No question about his ability as a forward ??

Stop talking about that fella will yis. He doesn't want to wear the jersey and didn't for a while. Good luck to Kildare with him. No respect for his club where he was made the player he is and 0 commitment to his county. Great footballer but was listening to the wrong people. Any defender would love to meet him in a white Jeresy and remind him of all this !!!!!!

actually, thats worth thinking about; was he dropped because he fell below his usual high standards or was it because he fell below the required standard? Im not sure Val or Terry would want to answer that question - the stat's speak for themselves. In truth it was down to his attitude or a clash of attitudes. I would have dumped my pride and done my best to win the player over rather than hit the nuclear button so early. It backfired horribly for Val in the end and he was a victim of his own judgement. Hitting out at internet forums and the like was the effort of dying animal. I wuz scarle' for um

I would say his advisor was a former county player and if it is the person I think it was Seannie should not have listened.
Shame really it has come to this.
Has the County Board freed him?
Have Cavan Gales freed him?
Have the CCCC given him the all clear??
