Johnston admitted on the Kildare radio station that he "chose" Kildare once he was dropped from Cavan because he respected McGeeney. The move should be stopped. You play where you're from or where you live. You don't go to live where you want to play. Minimum compliance with residency rules should not be enough. Conforming with the general ethos of the GAA should be the overriding requirement.

Did Cavan Gaels want him???Look he spat the dummy like a spoilt child and he is for now in limbo. I hope for his sake he goes back and play's with the gales and I am sure he will be back in the blue and white.
Our current captain was dropped from the panel and like the good lad that he is he worked to get back. It's how it's done.

I don't think so for he will have gained no friends from the genuine Cavan supporter he will now be classed as a gold digger. He will sadly not win any medals with Kildare so he will still end up with an empty pocket.
I never questioned this person ability but I have on many occasions questioned his commitment. If Croke park ratify the move so be it and good luck to him. Who will be next. ???

Sean O Rinn there is ONE point you fail to mention. Last october Seanie Johnston WAS available and WILLING to play for Cavan.

He was told he was not needed.

Mr Andrews will need to justify the dropping of 6 experienced players to the clubs of this county when he seeks a third year as manager, especially when results were worse than last year.
The team building line wears thin after a while, there comes a time when a SLIGHT improvement needs to be seen.
Val has 2 games left for that slight improvement

Sean o Rinn .... A good manager can handle all sorts of personalities. A spell in the subs would have brought Seanie down a peg or two. There was no need to leave any of the 6 in question out in October. Their individual winter personal training could have been assessed in January and their lack of so called commitment would easily have been spotted in fitness tests. Val handled this so wrong and seems to stubborn to admit it. Seanie handled it wrong too but as I said in an earlier post he was willing and available to play. 2 wrongs don't make a right... .. And the funny thing is this transfer is going to go through because of now Seanie ticks all the right boxes... And there is a Lenister title in Kildare in a 2 horse race between themselves and Dublin.. And they won't be far away from a Celtic cross either, with or without Seanie. I just feel Seanie will never play for Cavan again.. Now despite whT ppl
Think about him that would be a loss.. Because for one simple reason..... He knows where the posts are...... And there are not too many forwards on our present senior team that can say that..

one minute you are enquiring about him, the next you are talking to him. if you know him so well why did you have to enquire on HS about him, couldn't you just have asked him.

it seems congress passed a motion stating a player has to play county championship the previous year in order to represent the county the following year, directly to effect johnsons move, whether he has the patience to miss a summers ball remains to be seen.
great move by the GAA, this soccer style county hopping is the last thing the game needs
