it was interesting to hear Seanie's reply to the interviewer's question about "why did you choose kildare" or what madeyou want to play for kildare" his answer was .. i am paraphrasing here..I always admired Keiran McGeeney and I like the way Kildare play the game..etc etc... One would have thought the obvious answer would be..... "Because I'm living in Kildare".

Alot of it is to keep people informed. Alot of it is because we are doing poorly at present & on the verge of division 4 & asking why was this situation allowed to develop.

I've read every post that has been placed on this site and seen both points of view..... lets draw a line under it and leave it be...in a weekend where we lost probably the most gifted no 15 ever to play our great sport...I wonder can every person on this site really put it into perspective when u look at john egan and how he played football and I wonder does mr johnston see that?? the whole s***t surrounding him and the whole transfer saga is getting beyond a joke... and to be honest I wouldn't even mention him in the same breath as mr egan. yes he wants to play county football and good look to him if he does for whatever reason and we can speculate till the cows come home but he was surplus to cavan and while I don't agree with it as I think he is the most gifted, natural forward we have...It really shows that he and cavan have achieved nothing. abit of perspective from our county team and johnston when u look at what kerry has lost and indeed gaelic football has lost in john egan!!!!

You say the best forward we ever had well I question this statement I was not a fan of his nor of young Dunne but when it comes to the Cavan jersey its a different story. So the majority of his scores for Cavan came from frees well young Dunne scored 7 yesterday 5 of those from frees so we have a young lad equally capable of putting away frees. By the way if you did not know there was a change you would think it was Johnston taking the frees very similar ??

eh... no he wasn't fred.. read the post again...actually you and sean are both wrong... he said we was the most gifted forward we HAVE.
and Sean was right to compare with Dunne as Dunne is doing pretty much what Johnstone would be doing.. However Dunne is now injured. I heard Andrews saying in the post-match interview that we haven't got a big panel of players to choose from... welll to be fair. He is partly to blame for that situation.... He has
limited his options by either telling people they won't be involved this year or messing others so much that they have left the panel....

Interestingly Cavan scored more in this year's league without Johnston than they did in last year's league with him playing. They also scored more when he was injured in 2010 than when he was playing in 2009.

But as Val said yesterday we outscored Antrim 12 scores to 10 sure isn't that great.. And sure didn't we score the most against Donegal last year too...!!!!!!

All true Richie.. And I agree that Val should not be mentioning statistics such as getting more scores than Antrim and scoring more against Donegal than anybody else, no doubt borne from a lack of positives to talk about but frankly it's embarrassing.

But why do you think Cavan have form for scoring more as a team without Johnston? Surely taking the most talented forward from a poor team should have a negative effect on the scoring ratio as opposed to a positive effect.. Or is it merely a statistical aberration?

Jonsmith I would have like to have seen Dunne and Johnston together . Look if Johnston was disruptive drop him from the team. Not the panel. It was a big mistake because he would have been an addition being brought on with a point to prove .that's my only gripe with the whole episode ..
