Either way it's all embaracing at the moment. I can understand Seanies point where he wanted to play County football thus asking for a transfer bit from the Gaels point of view they are churning out a good crop of young lads all wanting their place on the club team. Maybe I'm oldstyle but I was always brought up the way the club always came first. Lads ya grew up with from u12 til senior, ther the lads ya didn't sh@@t on... I really don't know whether it was bad advice Seanie took or whether it was all his own doing.. To be honest Seanie has nothing to prove to Val Andrews or any other manager as regards his ability, but if there are questions about his attitude well that's something Seanie needs to address if he indents to become a top respected player.I know there are plenty of respected gaels personnel within the club who will put Seanie right if he is prepared to take their advice. It's that kind of club.. There is more to Cavab Gaels than results. richiej (UK) - Posts: 1430 - 30/03/2012 13:08:25 1139977 Link 0 |

I dont know the full story here but to be fair if Val had a problem with Seanie he could have droped him and kept him in the panel like he did McKeever and maybe he would have came back hungerier like McKeever did richiej (UK) - Posts: 1430 - 30/03/2012 19:19:25 1140317 Link 0 |

richie theres no point jumping to the conclusion that val is the guilty party.there is more to that story that meets the eye.. ive got the impression that seanie wasnt enjoying his football here in cavan for the last number of years.. i feel he was maybe thinking of other things like the switch to kildare..if a player isnt prepared to give everything for that cavan jersey then i dont feel they should be playing.. we need 15 players who are prepared to leave everything on the field and be 100per cent commited to the cause. we will never be succesful until this happens. whatever happened, if seanie walked or if he was let go.i feel it is the right decesion.if any other player doesnt want to play for cavan the same should happen.. asdfg (Cavan) - Posts: 320 - 30/03/2012 19:50:07 1140330 Link 0 |

lads seanie was on kfm (kildare fm) local radio station live about an hour ago and did a very honest interview he confirmed he resubmitted the transfer today and would hope this time it would go through he has ticked the boxes now that wasnt sufficent enough for croke park the last time.he also mentioned that he was dropped off the cavan panel and was told it was a 'long term strategy' and cavan was looking to breed younger lads in and wished cavan the best. he also said he is 27 now and feels he has a good few years left in him to play intercounty football and thats all he wants to do. lilywhitemagic (Kildare) - Posts: 1693 - 30/03/2012 20:19:17 1140347 Link 0 |

I believe seanie isnt going to get it all his own way with this again, and that the transfer will be blocked from within his own county !!! word has it that andrews will be gone after sunday and johnston will be called back in after a new management committe is set up within the cavan county board gaelsutd (Cavan) - Posts: 602 - 02/04/2012 09:21:19 1141579 Link 0 |

I spoke to a Kildare senior player and fellow clubman of mine at a wedding on Saturday and he told me that Seanie Johnston is already training with Kildare. lilywhite1 (Kildare) - Posts: 3070 - 02/04/2012 12:14:56 1141718 Link 0 |
