great to see val is getting rid of the dead wood within the team and freshening things up so that we can build to win things in the future

1066291 richiej, it was amazing, I had me tea and come onto the forum, and a whole host of people suddenly appear as if by magic, all in defence of the status quo.
funny that, strange to say the least it feels as if someone's cage has been rattled
Nobody's cage has been rattled. I would imagine the others are like myself, sick of hearing the constant totally biased drivel spouted by the same 3 or 4 posters on a constant basis. We now know who has been dropped. It's Val's decision not yours and not mine. Live with it and get behind the lads that are there now.

That's amazing when Richj and multiple username cav01 were havIng their little love in they seemed bolstered by each other. Now that more reasoned peoPle have joined the debate they are becoming hysterical.
Val has. Job to do, our players need to get out of div 3 so instead of rumour and innuendo and the biased logic that has been emanating from the sad posters mentioned, we need to get behind the team. Hopefully Seanie will be back and others who may be injured or not, at this moment, be in a position to commit to the team.

Cleverly you have decided to use the Latin expression Status Quo as a noun, allow me the same device to respond. Ad Nauseum just about describes your contribution and the second album source of which I think best describes you.

When it comes to twisted logic cav01 is a master
When I read the pathetic letters sent into the Celt I was both amused and irked. Firstly these people seem to think they are spokespeople for other posters when they are solo artists. ( cav01 excepted, he has several usernames) It was sloppy of the Celt to publish these exercises in drivel. One of the "Spokesmen" wrote of his concern for players while his little buddy (cav01 in the guise of Cavangaafan) has posted several personal attacks on our best forward. Message boards in most sPorts allows fans to get their points across never have I seen such mean spirited disingenuous posting as is on the Cavan site. It's good to see the more reasonable people giving their views of late.

here we go again, We point out things we are not happy about, we put forward our point of view, basically that we are unhappy with how Our senior team is being run, and because of this we get called hysterical, sniveling, whining, spiteful ill-informed and a host of other attacks on our level of intelligence. Unfortunately some of us had to be content with only an honours degree from UCC, and not from IT Blanchardstown. We point out now what we are unhappy about, so that in 6-7 months when we have another poor campaign we can stand and say that we told you so. If we didn't we would be acused of jumping on the band-wagon. Onchlir I thought the facelessness of these types of forums was beneath you, but maybe not.

It's interesting that cav01 continues to speak using "we" ( not wee, come on!)
It's interesting because it's difficult to know in what context he is using it?? Is it the Royal we or, uis he a spokesman for the other spiteful disingenuous posters?? Or ( very Probably) is the we referring to his several usernames as they should all be in agreement right?
I doubt it UCC would like him to be their spokesman

ochonlir County: Cavan Posts: 3504 When I read the pathetic letters sent into the Celt I was both amused and irked. ochonlir, glad to see you are still receiving "the Celt" wherever you are.
Question is, Do we, the public have a right to know what is going on within the County set-up or should we, like in years gone by just let them at it and turn up to the games and cheer on our heroes. I have been thinking about this and although a little bemused by some of the management decisions, I am not in a position to question them as I am not privvy to all the info that those close to the set-up are. However I will defend the rights of the posters on here who criticise the management because this is the nature of the medium. This is an open forum where everyone can give their opinions without fear of reprisal. Now it seems that certain people are taking this medium too seriously and calling for it to be closed. I think they should relax. This is a light-hearted forum and should be viewed as such. Now The Anglo Celt is a different kettle of Fish. this is a long-established and respected newspaper and if something gets published there then I would assume that it has been vetted thouroughly and deemed fit for publication so when Richie's letter (and Padraig Smith's letter) got published then that is serious. I think the mgmt should be more concerned about that then wasting their time fretting about HS .

How noble of you mr Goldrick, to defend the rights of the posters and yet deny the right of reply for Val. What it all boils down to is that the rabid cobblers of half truths and innuendo love to spew criticism but go doo lalley when it's thrown back in their direction.
Up Cavan, I'm behind the team and the Management and I wish my team the best!

1066501 It's interesting that cav01 continues to speak using "we" I use we because your comments refer to the plural, to posters, and to people, so I therefore responded using the plural.
The topic conversation is about the comments in the Celt, so I am glad you have brought it back to that. Amazing that the paper can get to Japan. Like I said before, you have the right to express your opinion, in whatever fomat or forum you choose, just as all posters have that right. You disagree with me, fine, you disagree with many , fine, you agree with some , great. but like Val you attack the format when it is used to express something you disagree with. The paper publishes two letters you disagree with and they become Pathetic letters (critisism of the content ...ok)and that "It was sloppy of the Celt to publish these exercises in drivel" (critisism of the format) It is also ironic, that you are using Hoganstand forums as a faceless poster in support of the man who says that hoganstand forums should be shut down.

As a Gaels man i dont know if Seanie and Mickey asked for a break or if they were dropped. If they asked for a break i know they will come back fresh in feb/march. Seanie didnt have the greatest of years by his standards but still has been Cavan leading scorer since 2004.
Mickey, i thought played some of his best football in the last 3 games of the championship for the gaels and anyone who was at them 3 games would agree.
If they have been dropped is it because they are too old? not good enough? disruptive? If this is the case i hope they never play for the present management again.
I see now why experienced good players like Chesty, domnick,Adge, elliott, and Sean Reilly dont bother committing. Why should they?? To be treated like Seanie and Mickey and cast on the scrapheap?? No chance.
Morrison in his first interview said he was looking forward to working with Seanie Johnstone. In fact Johnstone was the ONLY player Morrison mentioned. Then Andrews drops Johnstone, Thats great communication between Manager and Coach.
James Reilly seems to have become a scapegoat because we have no full back. Wouldnt the management be better trying to mould a full back instead of dropping a very experienced goalkeeper?? Wouldnt Reillys presence and experience around the younger goalkeepers be a plus rather than a minus?? Or can the management see any further than their nose??
Sheridan has always been a tenacious corner or half back. Dont know how many times i heard SEAN O RINN talk him up. You aint talking him up now Sean ,WHY?? Would it go against the management if you did?? We couldnt have that now could we Sean!
Mackey was off form last year too but has experience and still deserves a place in the panel.
As someone else posted there are players on the Senior panel who cant comand a place on their own club team so the question asked has to be ..Where did the management see these players playing for 60/70 minutes to be able to include them in the Senior panel??

So you are a spokesman cavwhoever, was there a vote or...? What makes you think I agree that this site should be closed? Blanchardstown and Japan are in different hemishperes FYI You and Richj critisise everything about Val and are apoplectic when he replies to your taunts. Dish it out but squeal like banhims when challenged back.
