Senior Championship 2011

I think its great to see Ballinagh competing and i hope they put up a good show against the gaels. As much as they might deny it, the Gaels need teams like Ballinagh to compete. Lets look at the bigger picture. Cavan need teams competing in the ulster club championship. In previous years the Gaels coasted through and this was the main reason for their poor performance in Ulster. With more competitive teams in the championship, it should stand to whoever wins it. I dont think anyone can deny though that the best team placed to lauch a serious challenge in ulster is the Gaels. The worst thing for them would be to hammer ballinagh and then the same in the final(in the long run anyway).

Castlerahan should of won by more also, Belturbet got a very debatable goal at the end, which should have been ruled out for square ball.. I said at the start of the year that Castlerahan were daRK horses for the championship, wasnt far wrong was i!

Good win for Castlerahan last night especially with Belturbet playing with 12 or thirteen defenders until that man got sent off. Didn't see the Gaels game but sounds impressive. Any standouts apart from Martin Dunne?

I'm all for new winners etc to strengthen cavan club football & the county scene. But i can not see anything other than a Gaels victory & comprehensively so.

David against goliath. Gaels have had three tough, well by tough i mean against three of the stronger senior teams in ramor, kingscourt and now ballinagh. Whereas castlerahan have had redhills, killygarry and belturbet. The gaels will not be fased by the occasion and its a new thing to castlerahan. I hope its a good game, but watching the two teams this weekend, there is only going to be one winner im afraid.

Everyone knows you write Castlerahan off at your peril!! yes they av ad big fish to fry along the way, but it dunt come much bigger than the Gaels, and its one that they will relish, everyone knows ye av to beat the best teams to win a county title, so while Castlerahan have their work cut out, its not mission impossible... No-one gave Kingscourt a chance last year, and they upset all the odds, so Castlerahan similar to Kingscourt last yr are coming under the radar, and if they can play to their potential on the day, then who knows, but there certainly in with a chance, and who knows come the 2nd of October the Oliver Plunkett cup may just be coming back to Ballyjamesduff....

Castlerahan will not win the Championship it's as simple as that. Cavan Geals will have learnt their lesson from last year's loss to Kingscourt, and will win the Senior Championship Final by 8+ points. It's really as simple as that im afraid!

I dont think the people of cavan begrdge cavan gaels anymore on there success, they proves yestarday that they are a professinal outfit who play football.i think they are finally getting the respect from the people of cavan.90% of the people in the stand yestarday were there to cheer the gaels on.i think ballinagh have become the most hated club in the county.
