Greatest Cavan Fifteen

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I am just wondering what a perfect Cavan 15 would look like.
Which players in the memory would make your all-star cavan 15?
How many of the players in the past 10 years would make your list?
Or would the players be from 20 30 40 years ago?
Who would be yor goalkeeper, backs, midfielders, and forwards?
I'll start the ball rolling and name Ronan Carolan as a shoe in!

Considering we hav'nt done anything of note since 1952, bar one Ulster title, most of the greatest players are dead and buried.

Cornafean's John Joe O'Reilly takes the honour of being Cavan's greatest, nobody comes close to being the player he was according to the GAA archives!

what a shambles and a joke of a county we are. here we are in the middle of the championship, and all we can post about is our great players from the past. i hope no other county reads our pages. should this talk not be kept for a dark november afternoon reminiscing about past glories for the breffni blues. cavan football glory days are gone. we are the 8th or 9th best county in ulster.

My father always speaks passion about Cavan football in the past and always stated Mick Higgins was the best and will remain the Godfather of Cavan football. Lets not forget about the history of John Joe Reilly and Gunner Brady, the OAPs of Cavan football take pity on us never witnessing our counties greatest ever talents.

then post about great players from the present, I only asked people to say who they think would be in the greatest cavan 15

QWERT. Well at least we are proud of our county players whether present or past. I suppose you would rather people write and talk about Manchester Utd or Real Madrid, who they are buying or what price the new shirt is.
I talk about my present county team as much as any man does. I was in Breffni last Sun in the rain. I was in Brewster Park when our gallant u21's captured Ulster and I watched them against Wexford and Galway. So we are quite entitled to reminisce about our rich heritage and history.
