best team won easily on the day, the handbags were clearly started by 3 kingscourt players who attacked lyng in the middle of the park as he was the one playing the first class paases around which envoked kingscourt.. didnt see the gaels players start anything in county final when been bet as they had respect for the players and have always said they deserved there win that day.
the behavior of the stars fans were tuggish and should be let out again. county board need to come down hard of that club!

Enjoyed league final, good game of football and good crowd there to watch. Gaels way the better team and should have won by 8-10 points. Great row at the end! All good manly stuff, toe to toe, Kingscourt's Baz started it alright but Gaels lads definitely finished it. Gillick seemed to be in charge on the line for the Gaels, barked out the orders and players responded well. Did other guy get P45 for championship loss?
Not a big Gaels fan but still team to beat in Cavan, young Gurhy impressed as did Meehan, Duffy moving up worked brillantly. Walsh had big impact in full forward line. Kingscourt had no answer to the power. The next decade could be more of the same from the Gaels, taking them on phyiscally isn't going to work and football wise barring the blip in this years final no one really gets close.
Taunting from Kingscourt supporters during presentation was uncalled for, Johnston held the head during it but it couldn't have been easy. Better entertainment than the rubbish in Breffni afterwards.

The league final was good, the gaels finally found a way to stop kingscourt backs from attacking which in general was a good match. They deserved the win with poor showing and bad decisions from some of the stars players. The row at the end was inevitable with tensions rising but a row is a row 15 v's 15...or so 1 would tink. The county board has to look at:
1. Why the gaels subs ran off the bench to become involved?
2. Gaels player/spectator was allowed to run on to the field from sideline and become involved.

I absolutely agree with starchamp, yes the best team on the day won the game. And the county board has 2 very imprtant issues to deal with.
1.How can you hold a senior final on a pitch that supporters can easily access. This is a recipe for disaster.
2.The cavan gaels guy in the brown jacket who hit more than one of the kingscourt players. He should be banned for life.

Herewegoagain ur obovisly a gaels supporter as it can be clearly seen fron your last post..in realtion to the game it was a good game up untill the end where things turned ugly but its up to the county board to sort this out so that we wont see repeats of this sort of scenes in the future and i would also like to say that the game is over..its time for people to move on from posting things on internet sites like this one..the gaels won the league but as people know its only the league..the chamionship is the big prize that all teams set out to win at the start of every year so in my view i think it would be better if the geals supporters quit tryin to blow about there league win and instead look towards next years championship like every other club in cavan and in years to come it wont be the teams that won the league that will be remembered..it will be them championship winnig sides.

sack

beat the gales on the pitch then you have a good team throwing rocks at them on hoganstand wont improve your team or perhaps you are content with you poor team

Sack,

I really don't understand the logic of that post. EVERYONE knows that the championship was the trophy the Gaels wanted but they didnt perform well enough to win it. This year has been the Gaels worst year on the field in prob 8 years and they've struggled all year for a variety of reasons. For this reason last sundays game was a massive win for the club and a finishing the year with a league championship is a great feat for any team. Had Kingscourt done the double last weekend, it would have been a huge set back for the Gaels. After the county final and the drawn league final, I personally thought we'd get beaten on Sunday and am delighted to see the club being proud of the win and not treating it as just another league- which has happened before. To totally disregard the importance of last Sundays game, and the league in general, shows a slight ignorance on your part and typifies many of the problems with club football in Cavan at the moment. Begrudge and belittle any clubs success all you want, but there is NO doubt that if more clubs stepped up to the mark in challenging clubs like the Kingscourt and Cavan Gaels, Cavan football would be in a much better state in general.

Its a pity to see all these comments coming in just because of a small melee at the end of the game which really only involved a couple of players altogether ! These two teams produced 3 great matches with little or no dirt in them. They are now 2 of the best teams in the county & should get over this small episode which should never have happened considering the 2 players that started it ! From what i could see, both sets of players came off the field having a bit of craic with each other & respect for one and other ! As for the shouting during seanie's speech, it was like the melee (caused by one person ........ only it was a woman ! ) As for the donkey that came on from side line with brown jacket .......he couldn't fight when he was trying to play football himself ! its a good job the small bench was there for him along the sideline for him to rest on, when he got beat back across the field by a few very young players ... what a donkey !!!!!
Finally, Kingscourt & Gaels get on with football & friendship, thanks for 3 great games.
