New management objectives.

Good ------ I suppose promotion from a very bad Division 3 is a must and a run in Ulster.

Bad ------ Not achieving promotion and early championship exit!!

Would like to see the team show more determination and passion and show that they are committed to their county and a management team making a statement about what they expect from the team and as already said getting rid of the hangers-on!!

I suppose as the full management team are not in position yet I expect they will wait to make a statement of their plans.
We don't know who the trainer the selectors are yet, we have ideas but nothing in writing.

Well I take it then that S.King is on the team, who else have we got, Trainer another selector and then who takes over the U21 and the Junior team now that Terry is with the seniors, it will be interesting to see the new people that will be on board. I expect Ollie Martin will be the kit man as he has been doing a good job.
Is mise Sean O'Rinn

Ciaran Brady should get the u21's and the junior team should be disbanded as its a complete waste of time and money

Slasher .Its got to be promotion id say.We need to get out of div 3.Bit of heart and passion wouldnt go amiss either. And if we can get a few extra that wouldnt or couldnt commit last year back on board well that would be a good start

Do we need this person on the side line wake up we woukld be paying nore in fines than the takings at the gate, Do yiou watch the action of management on the side line I feel if you were at the Gowna match you will see where I am coming from. Keep him away from inter county football. DISCIPLINE if the management has not got it you cannot expect it from the players.

Not sure what you are trying to employ your your post but I think that I do need a new hobby, Over thirty years around Breffni Park and I think its time I moved on for I feel we are going no place fast what a shame. I will not elaborate but you know your self.

i agree with you on this Sean. After seeing the antics of him & his team Saturday evening, the discipline & tactics would be very negative

Seanoroinn,

Agreed regarding the discipline !! Forgot to mention that in my original post and something Val and Terry need to work on with the panel. How many times has ill-discipline cost Cavan in big matches ?

lads it's not fair to single someone out like Ciaran and dismiss his county credentials because he may have got a bit passionate at a club game and that going by your posts

He as played at the highest level for us and has put a lot into the game so instead of critisising him we should be hoping that he, and people like him are driving our players on, we need dedicated and passionate people in Cavan.

Ochonlir this is going on all the time remember he was mentioned last year for the U21 but again how could you even think about him with what happened on the side line a few day's earlier.
To be management you need to be able to control emotions there is too much of this going on week after week, if you cannot control yourself you should not be on any line it's that simple.
Discipline would be top of my list with management and players alike. If you encouraged these people to take high profile jobs there is only way you will go and that's down for it filters inside the side line as well and we have enough of this all ready.

Agree with ochonlir what is need in Cavan is passion and drive. I was at the Gowna game on Saturday and saw TWO mangments teams being passioned for there football. That is what is missing in Cavan football.

Sean. If you think S King is a good man for a selector and C Brady is not then you have got to be off your rocker.

Well i don't know if the county is divided on the management team but the posters certainly are !! Only time will tell and a few good results might put this right but i still have my doubts and i think the whole affair was handled too quickly in the end. The appointments were made nearly overnight and as there was not a word about it beforehand ( a selection committee will be appointed in Sept with a view to having a new manager in place by October) it sounds a bit fishy. I think this appointment was made by a few dominant C.B. men and rubber-stamped by the sheep !! Hoping against hope but not at all confident as i think we got another T.C. or D.K. !!

Although I never thought that I would ever say this but I think Ciaran Brady is a good person to join Cavan Management. He is a person that gives the management role 100%, full of heart and passion. He is not into the money, perks and benefits, like many other managers that we have had over the years!!!!!!

SeanORinn, you should really keep your head on the job. What happened that you have the knife in Ciaran?????

Unfortunately, I am from a club that has bowed out poorly from the championship, but never mind lads next year is another year and hopefully we will have a good run at it. Denn for Chapmionship2011

I'm afraid that on these forums people take on absolute positions. People are very entrenchedin their views and have bery polarised opinions. so if a player has a pint they are participating in the drinking culture if they get soundly beaten then they have no passion, if a manager gets animated then they have no discipline.

The beauty of our game is that we all get the full set of emotions we shout and roar and get hig and low and then we have the odd pint. Some posters expect that if you play for Cavan or manage a club team or if you work hard to get onto the co board that suddenly you attain some sort of zen perfection.

We are all flawed, people do their best, i agree that we should challenge and argue but don't expect people to do the perfect thing at every occasion.

Finally I believe that people who put themselves outthere are much more preferable than the people who throw rocks at them and are part of the greater whingapalooza collective and there are plenty of them and they are perfect!

K.Brady I have no doubt is a fine person and if he could control his discipline I am sure he would make a great manager in fact I would love to work long side him, when I say the manager needs to be disciplined I mean what I say for if he has no discipline how can he expect it from his players. "When I say I would love to work long side of him I mean this in an honest way for you need a person who can control the issues at hand and keep the manager on an even keel as well so that he can think straight"
Perfect example Mattie Kerrigan.
Look I see most managers I have always watched their behaviour on the side line and if they spent more time watching how their players were performing than trying to do the referees job they would be way better of.
