blackwater definitely should have had 1 or 2 players on the county minor.. they have a full back who never gave redbridges full forward a sniff of the ball.. he played for meath vec to supposedly.. also 1 of their wing forwards was very good scoring 1-4 from play and their full forward scored 2-5.. a very strong team all round especially in the 2nd half of every match..

Yeah id definately agree with cavanman10 on this. in response to ochonlir, sure this team started out in division 3 and won it but have now comfortably passed their way through to the final of the division 2 championship with strong second half performances. This team im sure wud even give some of the division 1 teams a run for their money as well. this team overcame the strong midfield pairing of Redbridge by working as a team and their dominance faded.... Its negative attitudes like urs that probably cost some of these players a chance to represent their county, "sure they r only division 3 players" ,,,, they deserved a chance anyway

not negative but you're basing your views on div 2 and 3 matches
that's a long way short of div 1 or ulster cship

in any case if they were good enough they would have come through in the trials

get a grip

Players are often left out of Cavan minor squads despite possessing the ability!

No not whingin at all!!! , i was a neutral at this game the other night and was talkin 2 people frm Blackwater bout this, just found it very interestin. The way u talk u must be involved in the county minor setup ochonlir?? To get success at senior level things must be done correct at underage level, u agree?

i aqree

but lads get their chance and managers generally try to pick the best players so if a team does well in the lower divisions it dosen't mean that they are county minor material. Of course players from the lower division are on the minor team.

that's right and proves the point that if you are good enough you will get on!

Mountnugent sent two of their players into a County Minor "trial", but they were not the two best players. Blackwater Gaels have a few players equally as good as anything in the County Minor team, but, coming from Division 3 clubs will not and did not, help their cause. They are a very well balanced team with mid-field their weakest point. They will have 10 or 11 of the team available next year, if the amalgamation continues.

Maghera are part of the amalgamation , but have no players on the panel. There are roughly 10 Mountnugent and 5 Munterconnaught players on the team.

Should be a good final, there have been a few good tussles between the various clubs over the past couple of years.

i personally dont think that blackwater gaels have top quality players! the sheer size of their team is ridiculous, damn all of there players are under 6 ft tall which means that dey cud over power a lot of teams, espeicially in the lower divisions wer teams wud be depending on players from u16 level who wud be smaller! im not sayin that dey just beat teams up, bt i think their physicality is a massive contributing factor 2 der success!
