Great win for Shercock over Scarvy gaels last night in the div.2 shield final. Totally outplayed Scarvy and should have won the championship. The team played with a great attitude and fitness levels were superb. Great to see this small town continueing to win medals and the number of shercock supporters at the match was a credit to the town. well done.

Cop yourself on, Ochinlir. They have a panel of exactly 18 players. One of the starting 15 is under 13. Why the hell should Shercock play in Div 1 when they are nowhere near that level. At times this year in League they couldn't field a team. Hope you feel better attaching a team of U16's over there SHIELD win. You are nothing but a stirrer.

You are correct, the team won a trophy and fair play to them. I apologise and take nothing from their endeavours.

What a lack of joy by the Gaels supporters when the final whistle went in their semi final match v St Finbarrs. A smattering of polite appaluse and that was it. It had been a really exciting match and they were very lucky to win it after the poor ref took an attack of "Leinsterfinalitis" and disallowed a late St Finbarrs goal. He was never going to go against the big team that late on in the game. If it had gone St finbarrs way the crowd would have went bananas at full time. Have the Gaels just become blase about winning everything and most tight descisions going their way? Maybe the numbers will come out for the final abit like the Kerry supporters. It would have been great for football if St finbarrs had won. Ah well a moral victory for the 'Barrs - a joyless victory for the Gaels.

Good win for Gaels under 16s but probably aided by playing only Sunday while Castlerahan had to wait two weeks for the match. With the Gaels getting their under 16 semi final put of twice, their minors not turning up for a league match and going unpunished and their second team recently being reinstated into the junior b champ, are the County Board bending over backwards to keep them happy? Lets be honest they are not exactly returning the favour for the good of Cavan football.

rosie if you were in breffni last night you would have seen the great support for cavan gaels.. why go mad for getting to a final.... winners are used to semi finals but when we win fnals we go crazy... bit jealous rosie..

Thank you for proving my point murrayham. Yes the great support came out for the final (as I predicted it would). If you read my post I was disappointed with the lack of support & joy for your team when it was playing a semi. Of course I am jealous that Gaels won and Finbarrs didnt but true supporters back their teams on good days and bad (I should know!!) and from the first round of the league to the final of the champ. No need for your big headed comments about getting excited about semifinals either. You know every word I said was true.

That's an interesting trend, three amalgamations predicted to win the Minor Championships.
Division 1 (Shercock/Bailieboro),
Division 2 (Redhills/Butlersbridge) and
Division 3 (Templeport/ Sh Gaels).
All we need is Cornacreive to win Div 4 and we have a full house. Interesting times for minor football in Cavan.

Am back off my hols, and the one thing I have noticed from all the threads is the complaining about referees in this county!! Are they as bad as everyone is saying? I think it is a thankless job, but if you put yourself in for the job, you should at leat try to abide by the rules, or at the very least be equal for both teams.
