Was having few sociable's there Monday night and was told that a few of the players of a junior championship team have backed themselves to win the junior championship (5 to be exact including the manager). Now he could have been pulling me leg and if so I can appreciate the yarn, but this man knows the area well and would know the community. He told me the price was 5/2.

Anyone hear anything of the like? he wouldn't tell me the club but at 5/2 maybe one of the favourites?

I'm very surprised to hear that players and their manager would even be out socialising during the championship, Obviously the actions of a junior team. I'm not one bit surprised as this is the kind of thing that happens to Cavan men when they can sniff a chance of a few bucks. As for it being one of the favourites, well it could be Swad , Shannon Gaels, Shercock, Mountnugent etc,,. Hopefully this is "yarn" as you call it.

If this was happening anywhere else i woudn't believe it. only in Cavan!! You obviously know who it is horneytoad so spill the beans.. My money is on maghera!!

but if i am honest my guess would be shercock. Manager who would have played with some of the players. now that could be completly wrong

hornytoad, im not all that surprised to hear of that sorta thing happenin, i can recall it happenin a few years ago with a club but i cant think of which one, as regards the current case i wouldnt be all that surprised if it is shercock who are involved as they seem to be playing great football from the reports ive been receiving, i fully expect them to win the junior championship easily

not 100% sure on what the tables situation going into last round of games but here goes....

Cornafean v Shannon Gaels
straight forward Reds need to win and a draw will do SG. Should be game, bawnboy will suit SG in size and they are very used to playing on it. Reds will be fired up for this however man for man SG have a far better team and squad....SG by 4

Munchies v Swad
Swad already through and i think maybe munchies are already due to their win over reds. swad will want to beat everyone in their path this year and maybe just too strong.....swad by 3

Kildallan v Corlough
match of the round, local derby, corlough won the league game recently and have been unlucky not to have won a game in jfc. Kildallan need a draw to be sure of quater final, think kildallan will sneak it....kildallan by 1

Mountnugent v arva
Arva already through but will want to keep their winning run going, mountnugent will again need a draw to be sure of quater final. givney seems to be struggling with his injury but their greater need to win might shade it for mountnugent.....mountnugent by 2

Templeport v Shercock
both teams already through, shercock are way better team and are in the top 3 for the jfc, shercock by 6
