Intermediate Championship

well looking foward to very interesting w/ends football in intermediate c/ship. its very close to call with 5 teams in the frame in group 2 & 4 teams in group 1. eire og myshall & ballon look like making that group with the cocks missing out while the other group is much harder to call. the winners of clonmore & asca will go through & i predict clonmore winning a close game, the winners of leighlin & bagnelstown go through & i predict a very close victory for bagnelstown after their great win over clonmore at w/end. in the final game i predict a very very small victory for ballinabranna over st mullins which wud see them through in 3rd place. all in all some very exciting games to look foward to in intermediate c/ship.

Should be a good weekend alright. Hard to disagree with your predictions, although clonmore looked very average last weekend - mite be worried for them. Had B'town turned there posession into scores last weekend, a ten point victory would not have been flattering. B'town and Leighlin should be a cracker. Great bragging rights on offer in the local derby. Id say whoever comes through this group tho, will have there work cut out against the 3 teams from the other side. Only time will tell.

B'town 2-8 Leighlin 0-9. Bagenalstown survived some shaky moments at the end. They were good value for the margin of victory. But for the ref there would have been 10 points in it at the end. He gave leighlin some very very cheap frees.

i see that i was pretty rite with my predictions for w/end games, bagnelstown good win over leighlin, clonmore 2 gud for asca while ballinabranna surprisingly had a hugh win over st mullins who were very competitive up to now. Ballon had gud win over myshall while eire og beat the cocks in the other group. From what i hear bagnelstown & eire og through to semis while ballinabranna play ballon & clonmore play myshall in q/t finals. Too close to call at this stage but i fancy a winner from q/f games.

Ballon won 1-12 to 2-8 for Ballinabranna. Ballon well on top in 1st half, Ballinabranna came back strongly and it was nip and tuck to the final whistle. Could have gone either way.

My prediction was right. Great to see the town in two finals this year. Hope they can go all the way now. By far the better team yesterday, the goals kept Eire Og in the game.

Great to see all the colours up around the town for the hurling, maybe they will do it for the football aswel.

Your probably right boppin John Doyle is very strong in the middle but he needs a better partner, no disrespect to Coote.

I hope St Andrews win, it would give football in the town a great boost. But I think Ballon will.

They could do with a barry lambe return...james doyle or brian doyle would be ideal partners for john doyle

are you forgetting that Barry Lambe is injured and the other two mentioned dont even play football. I think coote had a stormer of a game against Eire-og. He is not the classiest player but he gives a bit of back bone to the side which is badly needed in the middle..........its going to be a close game with few scores i think, i maintain if st andrews play like they played against eire-og they will win by 2-3pts max! Anyone hav a prediction on the score?.....
