To hate Arles Killeen does not suggest small mindedness, in fact it may suggest a broad minded appreciation of the true values of the GAA and GAA club culture.

Please do tell what are these things that AK have done that are so against the values off the GAA? Proper answers now.....not these vague answers please!

No problem Kieno, and thank you for agreeing to explain the AK position. Couple of issues, if you would be so good to respond, thank you.
1. The enticement of players from outside your club's catchment area with money to play for your club. This devalues the traditional club structure in GAA and has caused hostility and tension inside and outside your own area and county. The original idea of GAA clubs was based around a local area setting up a club which catered for those within their area (parish boundaries being the most traditional boundary used) who had an interest in playing Gaelic Games.
2. With the influx of players from outside your own area how has this affected the local players? How many players from within your catchment area are now standing on the line looking in or worse sitting in the stand and finished with the game.
Now, as requested by yourself, deal with the two issues in the same set up as I have here and lets have proper answers, not guff and hot air.

I don't believe that people in general have an issue with Arles Killeen values, they are a grass roots community/family based club. I was in Portlaoise Sat evening and thought that Emo underperformed, however AK did play a good brand of football. They will not get away with the slow periods of the first half and must maintain the tempo throughout.

We have under 8's that have a more mature attitude to GAA than you have! No wonder there are squabbles carried onto the field when"fans" like you have such an aggressive manner towards the sport!
Perhaps that explains why Carlow has the second highest crime rate in the country!

AK were brilliant on Saturday night....................they played the best football all season....................and Emo were a class side. The best game I've been to in months!
Well done to the lads...........................it was pure class..................I'd nearly go as far as to say....................they were almost as good as the lilles :)

Roll on the Final.........................hope Baxter is looking forward to it as much as I am :)
Waterboy1 looking good in the dressing room and on the field :)

And fair play to the AK fans all they need are the Bohrans and they could compete with the Dubs on the hill :)

Great football on Saturday night lads. Portlaois were fairly good against a poor Portarlington team. I reckon Touhy and McCormack will take some stopping. Touhy in particular, surely must be the Laois number 11 for next years Championship?? The second match was great stuff. Arles-Killeen were very good I thought, especially Donie Brennan. Donie Kingston at midfield was good. Mahon the full-back was excellent, Emo looked like getting a goal when Mick Lawlor came on but they switched Mahon onto him and he cleaned him out for the last ten mins. Surely Lawlor should have been on earlier, Emo didnt have any forwards that looked particularly dangerous before he came on. Which other two teams got through to the semi's? And who plays who next?

Rumours of lilylovers health only strengthened by that last reply. Bizzare to say the least! Have a re read over that message and my previous post. Would like to see where all the "aggression" and lack of "maturity" was in my message. In your own of course.... Also the bizzare claim that Carlow has the 2nd highest crime rate in Ireland. Fascinating. Now when I referred to guff and hot air thats exactly what I was talking about. Any chance you might answer the two points lilylover? Maybe the answers are not suiting ya lily?

1. The enticement of players from outside your club's catchment area with money to play for your club
- Who says this is true....you? Or is it, as I suspect, just what your mates on their high stools say? I assume your main player of contention is Donie Kingston and how we supposedly poached him from Barrowhouse? Nothing at all about the fact that Barrowhouse wasn't his origional club either...nothing at all about the fact that Kingston is one of the finest young players in the entire COUNTRY who didn't have a senior team to play for at that club and the damage that does to both the player and Laois football. Nothing at all about the fact that Kingston had extended family members ALREADY on the AK team and now lives there....just a few miles from Barowhouse. Or, are footballers not allowed move home in your World...to the NEAREST senior club to them?

2. Influx of players. Kingston and who....Derek Hayden? Is that all you've got?

I suppose you had NO problem either with the non-Calow people managing Carlow....or the great Bobby Miller managing Eire Og? Is that not against these traditions you harp on about too?

Rumours seem to be your specialist subject!

I would consider "hate" as stated in your thread to be both aggressive and immature. I dont think anyone would disagree with that!
As for the crime rate in Carlow this is fact................believe it or not.
Now can you answer a question for me? How do you back up your claims regarding players been bought? I want hard facts please.
If all you have to go on is Donnie's movement to AK you may go back to the drawing board.
Remember we are a small club...................not NAMA :)
I think we should store your crazy claims for when we need a laugh! Even the moderator couldnt listen to your mono scilible comments.
Ive said it time and time again a little education goes a long way.....................now as I live in the real world I have work to do, so I will leave you to ponder on my question.
