Ya shud just play knock-out, with a backdoor system lke we do in Cavan.
It adds a bit more tension to the games, (more on the line)
But thats just an opinion. How do u reckon Lahardane will get on? Iv a close connection with that part of the county (other half!)

The Neale and Islandeady are light years ahead of the rest in the Junior championship!! All you have to do is look at the league to prive it... The Neale have been very good for the most part in 1C and while Islandeady look like relegation in 1A they have beaten Garrymore, got within 3 points of Shrule and put in a performance against teams who would win the intermediate.

Junior - The Neale and Islandeady to steamroll everyone.

The Neale to win

Brilliant result from Lahardane, not an easy place to go and get a result as Islandeady found out. Maybe they were a bit cocky. Also great result for Aghamore B against Eastern Gaels.

The way the champ is going so far i would expect most of these teams to make up the quarters depending on whether they meet each other in the last 16.

Ballina B, Killala, The Neale, Aghamore B, Ardnaree, Charlestown B, Lahardane and Islandeady. It would be a hard call between any of these teams as to who is going to win the champ out

apologies, its two teams from each group, and DA SPECIAL ONE, islandeady lost at the weekend, lahardane beat them so lahardane will be topping that group unless they collapse against ballinrobe b.. islandeady to come second in that group.

Junior championship.Killala will come good as the championship progresses and will be amatch for anyone at the business end. They are the only North Mayo team with realistic aspirations even allowing for Lahardanes surprise win over Islandeady.

Lahardane have no real tradition of winning at County or Provincial level. It will be interesting to see what they are made of at the businessend of the season.Especially when they are taken out of the ``paddy field``at Bofeenaun.

To Trixy,

Ignorance. Half of Mayo isnt exactly Mervue or McHale park and for sure Killala aint no Croker. Achill had no major tradition of winning and they did brilliantly last year fair play to them. To use the word 'paddy field' is a bit disrespectful. Describing as such disrespects the effort individuals and families have put in to establish and run a Gaelic club in the shadows of Crossmolina and Burrishoole since the early 70s where there was never a tradition of organised gaelic football. The pitch witnessed the last moments of a club legend so in some respects its sacred to the short history of the club and long may it remain so.

I do think Killala will probably be in the final but against who I dont know.

'how are the neale doing now?are the galway lads playing well for them?'

The only people playing for the Neale are people born and reared there or people who live there. Some of those born and reared there include Galway people as parts of the parish of Cong, Cross and the Neale are in Galway!

thats rubbish.the neale have two or three lads playing for them this season that were born and reared in caherlistrane that have transferred to ye coz they fell out with their own club.fact.they are living in the neale now as far as i know.

Three players have joined the neale from Caherlistrane, and are not even all starting. I have watched the neale on several occasions in 1C and its not these players that are doing the damage, John Varley at mid-field wins a mountain of possesion, the centreback is powerful and solid and both corner forwards if given good ball can be lethal.
