Best dual player in Ulster

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

As player/manager of QUB back in the 1970s I was fortunate enough to know (and not many people know that) that Paddy Moriority, dual all Star in defence and attack at football, had actually hurled for Ulster, so I called him up for that fateful game with Cork.

John Corvan was another great Armagh All Rounder.

Now Dhorse, you actually didn't read my post, and then reproduced it, without reading it.

Armstrong, Hall of Fame football and hurling, not McGourty.

And I liked Ogie. In the 8 finals he started at centre half forward they won. When they started him elsewhere, they lost.

I did read your post, and no matter what convoluted way you put Ogie Moran was/is a beeter footballer than Mc gourty, medals or not

Dhorse, you mentioned McGourty, and didn't say which one by the way.

I was talking about Kevin Armstrong, whose sons were better players than Ogie never mind Kevin himself. And Donal; Armstrong, like his father., played in an all Ireland hurling final, won a few Sigerson medals, and played county football for years. Certainly a far better dual player than Ogie, which is the title of the thread.

And seeing as you introduced the McGourty's, all three of them are better hurlers than Ogie.

Ogie Moran has 8 (EIGHT) all Ireland medals. Are you going to tell me that makes him a better footballer than Kevin Armstrong?
