In all fairness Oranmore/Maree were useless; I think it finished 2-16 to 1-9. Killanin are very good and I said that before. They will play the winners of St. James' v Leitir Moir. I reckon It will be the winner of this Second Round game that will win the West Board and Monivea might win the North Board. alfie (Galway) - Posts: 309 - 07/02/2009 19:41:46 200902 Link 0 |

Good win for Caherlistrane over Killererin at the weekend. Will be a crunch match against near rivals corofin when it is played. Tuam will have a handy path to the semi finals too now that they have got over Cortoon. Headford wont be a match for them. Could be more or less the north board final between the winners of the caherlistrane-corofin game and tuam in the semi final. Monivea have an outside chance though. Were very close to winning a minor county titles 2 years ago so will surely have a good team. exciting times ahead galwaylegend3 (Galway) - Posts: 22 - 09/02/2009 10:15:24 201550 Link 0 |
Caherlistrane just about bet a very weakened killererin team who were missing tom fahy, colin forde and micheal boyle. Caherlistrane have good new additions in colm and ryan monaghan from mayo. If caherlistrane pick up there game they will have good chance this year. Tuam will be the team to beat this year as they are only missing 3 starters from there winning team last year. Tuam beat cortoon in first round and are looking very strong. Annaghdown with this team were very strong 3 years ago, maybe they are missing a few but they might have the outside chance and they have a relatively easy game against mountbellew next round. bomber14 (Galway) - Posts: 7 - 09/02/2009 15:01:08 201889 Link 0 |
i think some of yours view are right. st james to win out the city and west. tuam will have serious chance with the addition of galway senior player gary o donnel and they should beat caherlistraen no problem or anyone for that comes before them. look like a good outfit. shallow, curtain, gaffeny all brilliant forwards should walk the north board. mountbellew will definetaly beat annadown not really worth the mention. monivea abbey if they can put up the scores will be only contest to tuam. actually corofin wont be bad, they have alot of minors that will pull them through which were all ireland winners 5 years ago. to be honest i cant see past tuam this year now that killeriran are out, unlucky at the weekend but there gone now for another year. smallman (Galway) - Posts: 2 - 09/02/2009 15:52:29 201972 Link 0 |

Monivea v Claregalway.........winners monivea(played 7/2/09) 2. Annaghdown v mountbellew 3. Headford v tuam 4. corofin v caherlistrane semi finals 7/8 march monivea v 2 3 v 4 ---------------------- quarter finals ---------------------- mountbellew could cause an upset v annaghdown, i know they have been training since before christmas so they will be fit. good players in david neary, atephen boyle and gary sweeney. annaghdown did win out the north board with this team in minor but i think they have gone back alot. verdict-mountbellew tuam to hammer headford no contest. caherlistrane to beat corofin. corofin have an awful young team so next year would be more likely for them to shine. caherlistrane are flying it with young eric monaghan their main threat. verdict caherlistrane gaa.lover (Galway) - Posts: 11 - 09/02/2009 16:47:38 202069 Link 0 |

st brendans should beat kilconly if they are in any shape at all kilconly have a panel of 17 max with lots of under strentgh players and minors.. the two murphys would prob be the strongest players not sure if they have many others... gaaman11 (Galway) - Posts: 107 - 11/02/2009 13:32:57 204158 Link 0 |
