Congratulations to Ballyhaise, a very impressive team performance overall, had a torrid first 15 mins with St Joes all over them but couldn't score, but after that they settled well and were the better team.

As Kipling famously said:
"If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;"

Ballyhaise kept their head and discipline and showed why they are the best team in Cavan.

was at the game and i was very impressed with the way the ballyhaise performed, joes were just completly outclassed all over the field, with the exception of midfield for the first 20 mins. Whenever the joes forwards got the ball they were immediatly under severe pressure from at least two ballyhaise backs. i expected tierney to carry the team but he had a fairly quiet game, even though he scored a good few points. as far as i could see, joes had twice the no of passengers ballyhaise had.
was also impressed with the way ballyhaise kept their discipline, aiden moran in particular after what he went through in the first half. i dont know how the linesman didnt see anything because everyoone in the stand did.

a wise man once told me (last nite infact) never argue with an edjit because he will only bring the arguement down to his own level and beat you with experience. so true of most of the comments posted by some people here!!!! well done to ballyhaise on beatin joes in minor final, they were all over them. i hope this will stand to joes come the championship and then we could have a cracker of a final between these two teams (if neither is beaten along the way).

Congrats to Ballyhaise yesterday, well deserved!! Showed they are'nt just a 1 man team, back line were superb as a unit... Stuffed a cocky Joe's team who cant seem to summon the bottle to win anything.....

Yea congrates to Ballyhaise on a great win but lets not forget that the Joes went undefeated up until the final and threw the league away but if ballyhaise aren't knocked out before hand i can see ST.Joes trashing them in the championship with ease. Does any1 else agree?

joes handed the game to ballyhaise.they kicked the game away in the 1st half but wer still in it until another slip up by mccaul which dented there confidence completely.but fair play 2 tierney it was the 1st time i saw him play and he was excellent.

So Joe's handed the game to Ballyhaise. Interesting. Final score Ballyhaise 2-9 St. Joe's 0-5. 10 point margin. The truth is that out from the first 15 minutes Ballyhaise completely dominated the game and led by 5 points at half time after playing into a force 10 gael. Yes, St. Joe's are a good team and they will remain favourites for the championship but after Monday's performance you would have to question their togetherness and their discipline. Ballyhaise's teamwork, hunger and desire is second to none and may carry them to a double in the summer. However, other amalgamations and teams like Kingscourt, Bailieborough and an underated Mullahoran are waiting in the long grass. It is going to be very tight and the best minor championship in years.

minor championship fixtures are up on the main page,im presuming it a straight knockout?st.joes and ballyhaise 1st round, think its quite unfair on both teams.

2-09 to 0-05.......... hmmmmmmmmm.......
what happened to the "brilliant" morris's??as far as i saw all they managed to do was get booked. And Mc Glade, who supposedly roasted every county minor this year but couldn't handle two 5 foot 10 midfielders who ran rampage all day long.
bouchier, who kicked one free and did little else.
paddy king came on and did absolutely nothing.
and don't forget st joes had a man sent off and 4 yellow cards. ballyhaise had one yellow card.

st joes scored 3 points from play over the hour.
ballyhaise scored 1-7 from play.

i think your a jealous st joes player who can't handle the fact that one team from a small village outside cavan can beat a town team amalgamated with a village team.

fooligan, first of all, congrats on the win,now down to business.

"what happened to the "brilliant" morris's??" didnt think either had a terrible game, and james was just back from suspension,so hadnt much game time recently.

"Mc Glade, who supposedly roasted every county minor this year but couldn't handle two 5 foot 10 midfielders." were you even at the game, in the first half i think yas only got scores when the kickout was won,5-1 at half time i think, joes kicked at least 15 wides in the first half. so your midfield won about 5 out of at least 15,thats not a great record is it?

"bouchier, who kicked one free and did little else." had the flu, wasnt fit to play u16s the next day.have you seen the quality of his passing before?a good freetaker can score against the best of teams no mater how bad his team is.boucher has been scoring frees all year, the amount he missed on monday shows he was on a bad day.

"paddy king came on and did absolutely nothing." paddy king only came on in the second because we were losing,id say.hes still recovering from glandular fever.wasnt great, but was terrible either.

"don't forget st joes had a man sent off and 4 yellow cards. ballyhaise had one yellow card." did they? to be honest i didnt notice that. dohertys a physical player, while sticking to the rules,if you give someone a fair shoulder and they get a free, your going to get frustrated.what he did was totaly wrong, but it wouldnt happen if refs were consistent.

i think your a jealous st joes player who can't handle the fact that one team from a small village outside cavan can beat a town team amalgamated with a village team. im not totaly sure but i dont think the population of ballyhaise would be much smaller than BOTH killeshandra and arva TOGETHER. you can call ballyhaise a village, but neither killeshandra or arva have seen the development ballyhaise has in recent years.

ah now mc caul you can't be at that crack.
also the 2 midfielders broke everything from mc glades hands throughout the game. with mc glade standing at 6 foot 4 and the other 2 5 foot 10 you would expect him to win everything but he won less than 50% of all the kickouts, partly because st joes did not have a goalkeeper with a decnt kick on him. personally, i believe that was the problem with the whole st joes performance. do you not think so DOUGAL

sorry but im not mclovin,or mccaul.nor do i play for st joes or am i a member of either club,(i dont even live in the parish).yes that was actualy quite a problem, your goalie didnt seem to have any problems with the wind in the first half but mccaul was certainly having problems in the second.look, a team doesnt go the whole league without losing a game (apart from the final),without being a good team.ballyhaise were far more acurate on the day,it would of been alot closer if joes had of converted there chances all the same.you talk about mcglade, tierny wasnt county standard on monday, thought he was quiet enough. quite a few joes haters on here i see.tony all im saying is there not as bad as people seem to think.ballyhaise and joes are both good teams, why do people have to put the joes down so much.i hate the gaels but even they didnt put the joes down as much as some ballyhaise people are.how did they bottle it last year, gaels were by far the better right from the start of the season, there was no doubt as to who would win league and championship. mclovins probably in bed,its past his bed time.do you seriously think im mclovin?
