no county board messed up again. i know of 2 refixed games yesterday evening where the teams were togged out ready to play but ref deemed it unplayable even though it was inspected earlier in the day

i heard that but theres only supposed to be 12 teams in each division. so teams wil have to amalgamate for it.
i dont really see wat the point of it is though. theres gonna be less people playing and i dont no how they're gonna decide who should amalgamate.

I heard of 5 teams joining up under the name west cavan. Still wont be winning Division 1 though.
Whats the point of it ? Its just going to leave loads of players not getting a game in the championship, alot of them in their last years of minor and in turn may lose interest in the game.

There should be only 1 Minor Championship the lesser minor competitions should be designated as the minor shield / plate etc as appropriate the same should be the case at U21 level. There is only 1 Senior Championship , with Intermediate , Junior etc. Some may deem my opinion to be controversial but that is their right. Players ambition should be to compete in this championship and if amalgamations are the way to go then so be it. Standards need to be raised not lowered.

The county board tried to make it 2 divisions for the championship and try to get lots of amalgamations but there was uproar at the meeting so it went out the window

I think it would be a good idea if teams amanglamated because it would give weaker teams a chance to play higher level football,but on the other hand it would not be fair on some of the weaker players in there last few years who wont get to play at all.If some teams insist on wanting to join up they should and leave it with 4 divisions for the teams who dont want to join up
