We used to have inspirational speeches the year we won the county title for Sarsfields in Antrim.

No matter who you were playing it was the same every week.

"St John's/Rossa/Loughgiel/Ballycastle (delete as appropriate) today lads. Blood and snatters".

That was it.

It makes no difference what song any county has to lift itself to the realms of all ireland glory there will never be a song that even touches on the passion that the "Boys of Barr na Sraide" can deliver to the people of kerry. It is one of the most beautifully crafted songs that has ever been composed. When you think of the great south kerry footballers(O'Connell, O Shea, Fitzgearld etc...) it makes one think that there must be some sort of gaelic footballing mecca in that area. Fair play to Sigerson Clifford. Let us all remember that we are only trotting after the true imperialists in the word of gaelic football. Yes that includes you too tyrone, and we have app 20 more All Irelands than ye but we still bow down modestly to the true and only county that can realistically claim to have a strong strangle hold on the sam maguire. I grew up on a steady diet of wonderfully played football by a team of kerry artists and nothing I have seen since makes me think that the grip on the artistry of pure football is about to shift.

A club in Sligo, Coolera, got to the County Final in 2005. They hadn't won the Championship in over 80 years and were confident that this was their strongest team in years.
After the semi-final, the manager took to group-texting the panel evert day with some inspirational quote from the likes of Vince Lombardi, etc.
During the week leading up to the final, one of the lads managed to get his phone and texted one or two of the team

seems you're having trouble with regional irish dialects, not sure what part of the UK you're in, Mainland or one of the offshore elements, however if your ever lucky enough to pass this way i for one would be only too willing to act as guide/interpreter for the midland area at least. hugzzzz
