Apparently training was worse than games and rather than having a full time physio they had a full time Dentist.
Fergus Caufield even knocked out one Armagh man before the ball was thrown up

No wonder Sean McCague once said "There was no such thing as a late tackle ... once it happened the same day as a game"

The hardest man I ever had the 'pleasure' of being on the same field as was without a doubt Keith Mc Gonnell. He was a real hard nut and probably the toughest since the likes of the Caulfields or Mc Carvilles. Not one for pulling out of a 50-50 ball..... and there was usually only one outcome.

Kevin Hughes is a good choice, I always thought that Emmett Brennan from Blayney was a real hard man. Damien McBride was teak tough! Pj Finaly took no s**t. But Fergus Caulfield has to be the man.
