Top 50 handballers in Cavan

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I've just been informed of this whole discussion, great to see good debate about cavan handball, as it is prospering in cavan at the minute with ulster and all ireland titles flowing like the footballers could only dream about! However, just to stress the point that I am NOT, the now infamous, Rock Shandy. Although i think i know who it is! As for fooligan stop the Ballyhaise propaganda! John Mc Cabe should be in the st.pats top 10 but he's not near as good as o'grady, sheridan or yourself even....yet!

eh who is this..i'd say its one of the young lads or paul.
I should be ahead of fitzpatrick in the list as i'm class and bet him nearly everytime we play.James should be at number 3 as he's better than pat finnigan.
and why is john mc cabe only in the 30s.He should be challengeing for the top ten.Hes a great player with lots of potential if we continue to coach him right.
and by the way rockshandy,i know who you are!

yeah i agree...mc cabe should be challengeing for a top ten spot.hes a great player and will be entering in mens A in kingscourt nekt weekend.
however a player to look out for is dean hyland who has great speed asnd determination.
Donal mcgoldrick is the star who has put in a relentless effort all year and has been eyeing up phil brady who'll be the hot favourite for the b division

maybe mc cabe to turn pro next season

Wel done to pats for being the only cavan team to get to an All Ireland final in how many years?

i here neil rooney is minor next year??ran an all ireland medalist to a tie breaker and only lost by a point.hes a quality player.

marcus sheridan is also a super player who has played at all levels.played the world championships and has an bronze all ireland in his pocket.

i played against them both and when there teamed up for doubles they were given the name the 'superpowers of the handball world'

all ireland titles are possible with these to courageous players could generate all irelands in the coming year

i bet no one tought rockshandy would have paul wining out the competition.

no way will dillion win the B..john mc cabe is playing in it instead of marcus sheridan and will hammer both of them..
my bets is he'll pick up player of the compitition too..

don't you mean "peak" and "psyched" and "parcipitating"

lets hope your spelling isn't as good as your playing, otherwise your spannered.

does tomo1 have the same english teacher as you had in the past? because your typing and spelling is very alike i must say. anybody agree?

Well what's the top 50 going to look like now?

Kevin Martin, Kingscourt Open B Singles runner-up, has to make an entry somewhere in the top 50

C Singles winner Patsy Smith should move up a few places as well.

Padraig Cahill lost four matches out of four, and could drop a few places, while John McCabe, John O'Grady and Ryan Brennan all failed to perform.

Raymond Cunningham is now undoubtedly the number three in the county.

Fitzpatrick may move up after pushing Cunningham (who beat Cahill 21-1) to a tiebreaker in the semi-final.

Cathal Sheridan had impressive wins over Shane Grey and John O'Grady and could be worth moving up a few places.

New top 50 to follow before the county championship in Januray.

yes,Rockshandy i have to agree.Experience proved vital on the day as an experience player was able to pick out a players week point within the first couple of points in a game.
Yes the young guns did underperform but saw a glimps of talent in one or two of them.
More coaching by the likes of paul fitzpatrick, james brady and eddie hallaigan should polish up their skills and push the lads towards ulster titles this year.

yeah rockshandy i have to admit they all did dig themselves into a hole alright.all think there great inall but it comes to match day they couldnt cope with pressure and showed alot of inexperience.
however i think they will come good with alot of practise over christmas and will come good (with a bit of luck) for the county championships after xmas.

Billcan?what did you see as weakpoints.?

id say if neil rooney was there he would have put up a good fight as he has no problems with motivation like the others.

pauric cahill is defonately out of the top twenty anyway with no wins out of four matches.
james brady played well in the group stages but was worn out by the semi final stage on sunday. he is still the number 3 or 4 in my view and with a good run of luck he could be up there challenging with paul.

Just a small message for myself! :-) Come on Podge, just shoot & Kill no tip and tappin... You can do it if you believe.
Also the reason why I lost, is because of my sore shoulders, rockshandy.

tomo1
different players nad different problems.
Cathal sheridan:saw him play, quick around the court.Bad weak hand and couldn't kill the ball

Conor reilly:Two good hands but poor technique and couldn't kill the ball

John o grady:Good player but no right hand and poor fitness.A slow starter but showed good footwork

Ryan brennan:expected alot of him after the talk of him on this site.Good killing and passing. No left hand.saw him in a game and look promising but didn't qualify.

Dara mcveety:didnt rate him too much but saw him play and diffently one to look out for.

John mc cabe:obviously someone talking dung when they said he should be in the top 20.

just to recap, all the lads need to train their week hand
